Ok, off the wall question here. Can the "sound" of the ball off a persons platform throw off the setter/hitters?? I call bs but I'm not a coach or player. I can't imagine it. Has someone made that claim? lol Believe it or not, yes! From a coach to boot! Said she thought the ball coming off her platform sounded different and it was confusing the setter and the pins!! Not my kid/team but a very good college player.

Volleyball coaches = a little off Dman, you should know this by now!

Clearly this player needs to go on a forearm diet to make her platform conform to the body composition of the other kids on the team. It's the only way, really.
Link in bio for forearm diet supplements!

LOL whut That coach must be an ex-setter. Finding new and creative ways to blame the pass.

Brings me back to my other favorite setter-induced coachism: "Any set above the net is a good set."

I could kinda understand it if it was the coach of St. Agnes School of Blind volleyball team but other than that it's one of the more crazier things I've heard...

Anyone got any knowledge of coaches that may be on the short list for Alabama?
It will be interesting to see the direction Alabama AD takes here because with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma in a year or two the SEC is going to be pushing quickly to be a top 2 conference. Year 1 when those two teams arrive Texas will challenge for SEC title, and Oklahoma will be solid because their HC is pretty good and a pretty good recruiter. I just don't think Alabama will want to be team # 14 or 15 in a 15 team conference.
There have been some pretty good "Young Guns" new hires at Tennessee, Ole Miss, and I am going to give Kuhn at TAMU a pass for this year, but no more free passes! South Carolina has a good one too... The last school in SEC to commit resources is going to struggle and be a bottom dweller for awhile. Alabama needs to step up or just join Vanderbilt and opt out. All it takes is a couple rounding errors of football money and many of the SEC schools can get a quality top 10-25 Head Coach or a top 5 assistant that will make a difference.

Cheers to the Wildcats, Vols, and Gators on their wins, and cheers to MSU for putting up such a good fight against a talented Hawai'i team!
Tough luck for the Gamecocks who had to play an inspired WKU squad. I will miss seeing the SC seniors (Robinson, Manning, and Dixon) giving it their best on the court -- they were really fun to watch these past several years.
I'm not sure who all is leaving MSU, but I know that Dean and Kemp are done - wish them well! And if any of the other seniors are done or moving on, they should be incredibly proud of what they did this season in Starkville. Salute!
