LOL, a shot fired by Triple Crown. The following is posted on their site under the Gate Pass section:
*Breastfeeding mothers with infants: Please stop by either Tournament Desk & we will gladly direct you to a comfortable Mother's Room away from the crowd & noise.

Apparently Kay is the only one dense enough to not realize the ramifications of not making an exception for a breast feeding infant. I would love to know if she is going to address the mothers at her club, there have to be plenty of people upset by her leadership decisions when they pay thousands to her annually and trust her overseeing judgment of teaching their kids life lessons that come with the territory of coaching volleyball.

But more to the point... In the past USAV has pulled and reallocated NQ status... So it's not out of the realm of possibility. But at this point Xroads hasn't broken any USAV protocols or rules... Lots of bad press for sure... I don't know how long/under what conditions NQ events are given. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... But USAV athletes/members are covered under the USAV insurance umbrella to an extent. Are sanctioned events covered top to bottom under that policy as well?? Of that I'm unclear. Spectators are not covered... So it would seem that any venue would require some type of additional insurance... They have? When was the last time they pulled qualifier status from an event? I'm pretty sure the Penn State tourney was a Qualifier at one point.

Maybe I’m just a cynic, but this smells like USAV taking advantage of this situation in order to host their own event and make more money.

The only thought on "no standing" is to avoid having more people at court than should be there....gathering to watch another team, etc. the tripod thing is ridiculous. The only thing worse than tripods in isles at a vb event is the campsites with 4 blankets and kids sprawled out like they’re in the park...both turn isles into trip hazards... and the looks of utter disgust as anyone dares cross through these sacred and hallowed grounds are not remotely rare... Damn, if I didn't know better, I would share we have been at the same events and been berated by mommy and daddy for asking the kids to move their blankets, bags, shoes out of the aisle as required for safe passage.

Wow! Years of going to Xroads...crazy that it is removed. So do you think USAV will host a Colorado tourney or they will give it to another club or even another region? We would love a qualifier in Arizona!!

They (USAV) dont have the staff or the will to SPEND that money... to make money... I cant imagine they wont reallocate those bids to another current event... It is also my understanding that ALL current USAV NQ bids and the contracts attached to them expires in 2025... That is 2nd hand though and could be wrong...

I bet they run this event as a Non Qualifying tournament one way orthe other... the demographics of the teams playing may shift... but I bet it still runs...

The own and operate the Sunshine qualifier. Along with BJNC and GJNC and Opens. So it’s not like they don’t have the staffing in place to host large events.

They have to hire Independent contractors to run their Championship events (Opens, GJNC, BJNC, 18s)... and those staff have been gutted over the last few years... It takes the willingness to spend money to make money... and history says USAV isn't always willing to do that... HPs should have been a HUGE money maker... and rather than invest in the groundwork already there they bailed on it... I think the USAV events staff does an outstanding job of using what they do have... but they are not equipped to run a NQ that would compare with the $$ spent by a group the likes of Windy City, Lonestar, Big South, etc...
