I got 3 out of 4. Russia failed me.
I had France, Poland and Slovenia

So Slovenia-Poland should be interesting. Slovenia needs Cebulj to have another big match. I feel like Poland can get serving dependent, but I wouldn’t want to bet against Leon. Also, I’d rather see Sliwka/Semeniuk over Kubiak.
France-Brazil was crazy earlier this VNL, so I’m going to wake up for that. I said in another thread that I think *as of rn* Brazil is going to win Pool B in Tokyo but if France can get another win over Brazil + gain more momentum in the final VNL rounds it’s going to be even more interesting. Even though France can seem more inconsistent, they’ve got some impressive wins this VNL.

Just realized that everyone who beat Poland is in the Final Four.

I know this board is generally critical of him, but Tillie’s had a pretty good tournament so far. Now, I’m still not fully convinced about France beating the big dogs at the Olympics with Tillie on the court, but maybe France can make a statement at the end of VNLs here. Clevenot has been solid too.

I can even go as far as Tillie being better than Trevor in this tournament.
France is lucky to have reliable subs for the setter, opp and open. Who can give something different to the team if things are not working.
I'll sink or swim with Trevor as well. But it doesn't really matter who starts and subs. Goal is to win.

Brizard performing at a high level is massive for them given the blocking issues when Toniutti starts. And I think Brizard has played well with Tillie which makes the head coach happy.

Trevor and Antoine have better connection as well. Both together with Yacine played for Toulouse (2015/2016).

True. I don’t think he’s received or attacked at his usual level but his defending is unparalleled and brings great serving and 2nd touch on a bad day.

If Ngapeth’s claims are true, Kubiak is not only a racist but also a moron since Leon is his teammate on the Polish team. There is a bit of a confusion here (probably due to insta story translation). “ Selectionneur de l'equipe national polonaise” means Poland’s coach, so Vital. NGapeth said that Vital used n-word towards tournament staff member. Also, said that Kubiak was offending him during the game (but not racist). Just wanted to clear it, since it looks that people are mixing these two

Brazil takes set one, Lucas had a big run at the end and France made errors to widen the gap. Isac came off because he may have pulled/injured something but he seems fine.

Brazil in control, taking set 2. Leal’s having a great match. The French OHs are all struggling offensively and not much middle attack to make up for it.

Well that was quick… quite an uninspiring performance by France. Brazil completes the sweep and looked comfortable, executing at a high level. At least there’s time to nap before the Poland - Slovenia match!
