Also who's playing in that second OH spot opposite N'Gapeth? If it's Tillie, I don't see France living up to expectations. Personally, I think it should be Rossard. He had an awesome season for Vibo and gets it done in every phase of the game. But as a USA fan, I hope it's Tillie lol. I think France's best lineup in general is Ngapeth, Rossard, Patry (Boyer is too inconsistent), Toniutti, Le Roux, Le Goff, Grebennikov. Not having Le Roux at the VNL is a pretty big blow. I disagree, I don't think Le Roux is that big of a loss. He barely played this year for Berlin after joining midway through the year. Chinenyeze was incredible for Vibo Valentia in the middle this year and is more than a capable replacement for Le Roux. France might have the best combo of two setters in the tournament in Toniutti and Brizard, both are good in certain matchups. Agree that Patry belongs as the starter over Boyer, especially given how this season went for both of them. As for second outside hitter, Rossard is a great choice, followed by Clevenot, Lyneel, Louati, then Tillie in that order, in my opinion

Not a fan of Italy not sending their Best Lineup for men’s and women’s when the VNL is being held IN Italy. Wheres the pride? I mean...I get wanting to rest your players before the Olympics? But at least send them for the last three weeks/the finals, especially on your home court. A little match play will only help at this level. My simple guess is that their starters just have a lot if nagging injuries and are in need of rest before the Olympics. That also said, anyone know the average age of their starters? I think they might have the oldest lineup in the world and as thus just making a calculated move give them an extra break.

Are their vets still Zaytzev, Juantorena, Lanza, Antonov, Mazzone, Russo, Lavia, Piano, Colaci, Anzani and Giannelli?

Gianneli is also young, but he's been with the team for so long that I would call him a vet I guess. Everyone else has to be like 30+ (ish) though, so I understand the need for rest.

Junaterena being the oldest at around 36ish if not mistaken.

Notable absences per team IMO: Brazil: Lucas Saatkamp Lucas (waiting for the birth of his daughter) and Joao Rafael is rumored to join at the midway point.

That's not good for Argentina...hope the others can get better and rejoin before the halfway point? It seems really rough.

Interestingly, no Ma’a in the roster. Ma’a chose to spend this summer with his Best friends and GF traveling the US promoting their new Brand “Out of System” they’ll be doing clinics, grass tournaments and events..... he knew he was about 4th on the depth chart so he chose something that will make him happy for his mental health. I wish we saw him at VNL love the kid and he’s such a baller, but happy he’s taking care of himself. From what I know there’s no I’ll will between him and the Coaching staff....Speraw is basically his 2nd dad lol

That would be a loss for USAV in my opinion.
