San Diego completely outplayed Cal Poly in a sweep -15, -18, -19. Frohling had 10 kills hitting .474 (in the second set she had 10 kills at .714 and didn't score again). Pries had 10 kills at .381. Blackwell went 6-0-8 with 6 blocks. Hester and Goddard hit 0. I thought Tercariol played well. Her hustle to the ball and location were good.

Where is Johnny Neely? He wasn’t on the bench last night, either.

I also noticed he wasn't with the rest of coaches when they were scouting during the MSU v. Weber St. match.

Santa Clara lost 1-3 at UC Davis. Set one was all SCU, then at the beginning of set 2, Sangiacomo dove into the chairs for a ball and was injured, and UC Davis ran away with that set. Sangiacomo came back in set 3. Both set 3 and set 4 were very close with UCD pulling away late. Santa Clara had real struggles in serve and pass. Yikes. (The libero became the serving target.)
Gonzaga is up 2-0 on Air Force.

BYU had a really impressive sweep over Michigan State. They are the team to beat this year in the WCC.

Pepperdine runs away with the 5th set (15-6) for a 3-2 win over UC Santa Barbara. The WCC goes 8-4 on the day. They went 9-4 in yesterday's matches, so 17-8 so far this week plus BYU's win on Thursday, so 18-8 with one match left tomorrow between Gonzaga and Oklahoma.

Thoughts on the Pepp LBSU exhibition. Meg Brown is Pepp’s most reliable and best player by far. And her leadership presence for just being a sophomore is undeniable. Pepp will not be a top 25 team this year. The pin situation is lack luster across the board especially when you compare it to the likes of Kash Williams from LB. wow that young is a star and uber athletic. Pepp really fell short on recruiting strong young pin successors with Scully’s departure and it will hurt them. Was hoping to see more fire power out of Chillingworth who was strong in her 14s and 15s club years. She definitely needs to hit with more power and jump higher. Hoping the defenders improve some too. Still early but not overly impressed. I stand corrected. Pepp currently 6-0 and Chillingworth performing quite well. *Inserts foot in mouth*

Thanks for the excellent work with the schedules and results, Zazu! You're a hero. Looking forward to tomorrow's UCLA at San Diego match. Does anyone know how Lukes is doing? Any chance she will be back for the match? Pries and Frohling are an excellent 2/3 of the needed pins, but San Diego needs to find a third pin who can put the ball away if Lukes doesn't return soon. Their middles can't carry a match like they did a few years ago.
