I’ve been watching the entire SMC match and can’t believe how Santa Clara looks so mediocre. Santa Clara is up slightly in the third set 12-10

How does Santa Clara beat South Carolina, take Pepperdine to the last point and then get housed by St. Mary's? and lose to Auburn! who loses to a 3-12 freaking Alabama State team. |

Interesting. Santa Clara has a L named Kat Georgiadis and Houston has a libero named Kate Georgiades. Random.

Santa Clara's outsides haven't done anything tonight (nor the middles). Only Shaffer playing well. Tulino, who had a fantastic match against Pepperdine, has been subbed out for Spaar, who isn't a big hitter.
SCU was up 24-22, but Sangiacomo called on a back row attack. Now 24-23 in the third. (And as I say that, Spaar gets the kill to give SCU the 25-23 win.)
Meanwhile, Pepp has completed a very easy sweep of Portland -13, -23, -16.

LMU has completed a sweep of Gonzaga, but the Zags put up a bit of a fight. 25-13, 26-24, 25-21
Pacific is up 2-1 on San Francisco, gaining steam.

St. Mary's reminds me that I learned during their match with BYU that the reason Boo Laird is called "Boo" is because she resembled Boo from Monsters Inc. when she was young. I guess that's a pretty good reason to have a nickname, considering that Monsters Inc. is my choice for best Pixar film.
Edit: for reference, my Mount Rushmore if Pixar movies includes Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Up, and Inside Out.
