San Diego plays poorly after that timeout. San Francisco has tied it at 21. USD TO. Did not see this match being this tight.

Saint Mary's with another set point in the 4th at 31-30, but no dice. 31s.

Gonzaga trying to end it again, 32-31.

And they do, 33-31. Boy, what a crazy ending to that match. Gonzaga wins it 3-1. Saint Mary's was down 9-15 halfway through. Then they stormed back to take a 23-17 lead, had 6 set points, fought off 4 set points against them, and ended up losing 31-33 in the 4th instead of sending it to a 5th set.

San Franciso has a 24-23 lead in the 2nd set against San Diego, but they are challenging touch. Call stands. Set point for USF. They had a chance, but USD gets the kill of the block to tie it up at 24.

Really long rally ends in a hitting error from USF. San Diego set point at 25-24. And the win it on another error from USF. 26-24 to go up 2-0.

San Diego having an easy time of it in the 3rd set, 21-12.

Katie Lukes leading the way, .333 (11/2/27). Frohling at .235 (8/4/17), Blackwell at .417 (7/2/12) and Pries at .118 (6/4/17). San Diego has 10 blocks to 1 for San Francisco. Not sure how many came in the 3rd set.

San Diego was a bit slow out of the gates in this match, but they ramped it up in the 3rd to win easily, 25-15, and that's the match, 3-0 for the Toreros. That's it for me.

Kennedy Kaminsky has 6 kills, 1 error, on 11 swings (.455) for Pacific, and Sedona Sherman has 5, no errors, on 8 swings (.625).

For Portland, Jayde Harris leads the way (.217) 9 kills on 23 attempts, but has 4 errors. Then comes Emma Swett (.556, 5/0/9) and Chelsey Harmon (.375, 5/2/8).

BYU did not pass well enough to utilize their middles tonight. Kind of bummer...Gneighting has been so effective it is disappointing to not have her as a viable option on a consistent basis.

BYU looking pretty average right now. USF serving well, BYU passing poorly. BYU can't tell if deep hits are in or out and having trouble playing them anyway. USF scrappy defense as usual. USF up 19-17 in 1st set. BYU TO.

BYU now down 19-22 and takes a 2nd TO. Good for the Dons! I like the way they play, always have. This has been a tough season so far for them, but I thought they looked pretty good on Thursday against San Diego, though I didn't see the whole match.

Pepperdine takes 1st set over LMU, 25-23, although that score doesn't tell the story, as LMU fell behind 12-20 at one point, then came back to make it close at the end. Pepp up 1-0.

BYU pulls it out, 25-23, to win the 1st set over the Dons and lead 1-0.

USF was so close to taking that set! Love they way they are playing.

Meanwhile, in Portland, Saint Mary's is already up 1-0 on Portland after spanking them 25-10 in the 1st set. In a closer 2nd set, they are up 12-10. Megan Chandler hitting .333 (4/1/9), Hawley Harrer .375 (4/1/8) and Boo Laird .800 (4/0/5) are playing well for the Gaels. For the Pilots, Paloma Bowman is hitting .444 (4/0/9) and Emma Swett and Chelsey Harman 3 each.

And in Spokane, Gonzaga has a 1-0 lead on Pacific, with a 1st set win, 25-21. Up 4-3 in the 2nd.

LMU up 15-9 on Pepperdine in the 2nd. Geissberger has 8 kills, 2 errors, on 15 swings (.400) and Klemp is hitting .625 on 5/0/8. Ahrens has 8 kills for Pepp, but also has 4 errors on 18 swings for a .222.

BYU up 14-9 on San Francisco in the 2nd. Ballard-Nixon leads BYU hitting .500 (7/1/12).

Pacific and Gonzaga were tied at 15 in the 2nd, but now Pacific has built a 3-point lead, 18-15. Alexa Edwards with 6 kills for the Tigers. McKenna Marshall with 7 for the Zags.

Portland is putting up a strong challenge in set 2 against Saint Mary's. They lead 22-19 late in the set.

LMU still up 21-19 at Pepperdine, but it's getting tight.

BYU up 21-15 in the 2nd at San Francisco. And just like that they have set point, 24-15. That was fast. Hifo serves into the net. 2nd set point, 24-16. And BYU wins set 2, 25-16 with an Eschenberg overpass kill. Up 2-0.

Portland fights back to take the 2nd set against Saint Mary's, 25-21, to even it up 1-1.
