Looks like Pacific eked out a 25-23 first-set win over LMU to go up 1-0 in that match, and Pepperdine won the first set over Saint Mary's comfortably, 25-17, to also lead 1-0.

In the second set, Pacific is leading LMU 12-9 and Saint Mary's has built a 10-7 lead over Pepperdine.

In the USD vs. Portland match: USD hit .288 (44/14/104), Portland hit .110 (27/17/91)
Frohling had a great match. She hit .421 (19/3/38), 3 aces, 5 digs, and 3 blocks. Lukes was a bit off. She only hit .107 (9/6/28), 3 aces, 5 digs, 1 block. She's been so good recently. I suppose she was bound to a have an off night.
Jayde Harris continues to do well for Portland hitting .222 (12/6/27) in this match.

Pacific is pouring it on in the second set, 17-11. LMU called a TO earlier, but it didn't do any good.

I cringe thinking about this Portland team going up against BYU next week if this is how they play against USD when Lukes has an "off" night...BYU just has too many weapons...

Pepperdine went on a 3-0 run after the TO to get to 16-13, but then Saint Mary's blocked Ahrens after a rally to push it to 17-13.
Meanwhile, LMU has closed to within 3 points. Down 16-19.

LMU is still without Geissberger, but they should be able to win sets without her.

Saint Mary's tied it up at 23 after the TO.
Ahrens LS kill gave them set point, 24-23

Saint Mary's LS kill gave them set point 25-24
Chillingworth LS kill. 25s
Saint Mary's RS kill (couldn't see who it was and the sound is too low). 26-25. #2 set point for Saint Mary's
Good serve gives Saint Mary's a free ball on set point. LS kill. Again I couldn't see who it was. Saint Mary's wins it 27-25.
Match tied 1-1
Impressive comeback from Saint Mary's after it looked like Pepperdine had gone ahead for good. I did not think they could do it. Oh me of little faith.

Anyone know where Ashley Reed is for SMC? She hit .364 last time against Pepperdine and played last game against LMU but is nowhere to be seen tonight

Pacific went ahead 15-14, but LMU has managed to grab the lead again. Clinging to 1-point advantage 20-19.
Saint Mary's was keeping up with Pepperdine, but after a tie at 14, Pepperdine reeled off 3 straight to lead 17-14. SMC TO
Saint Mary's get two back after the TO. 17-16
