Pepperdine breezed to another easy win in set two, 25-13, at San Francisco. But the Dons are showing some life in the set three. Pepperdine up just four points at the moment, 16-12.

San Diego held off Saint Mary's at the end of set two to win 25-23 and tie the match 1-1.
BYU won set two over Pacific 25-17 after leading by as much as ten at one point. BYU up 2-0

As expected, Pepperdine has an easy sweep of San Francicso, -7, -13, -15.

LMU leading big in set three over Santa Clara, 14-8.
San Diego looking good in set three, up 11-6 over Saint Mary's
Pacific leads BYU 15-13 at the media TO.

LMU didn't let Santa Clara back into the 3rd set. They won it 25-19. Santa Clara still up 2-1
San Diego had not trouble winning the 3rd set over Saint Mary's 25-16, but they are down early in the 4th set, 2-8.
BYU trailed Pacific the whole 3rd set. Pacific had three sets points, then BYU won it on their 2nd set point, 29-27, to sweep Pacific. They only hit .222, but Pacific hit just .099.

Pacific has been a fairly pleasant surprise after their disastrous spring (2-7 with an abrupt cancellation of the rest of their season). They're basically the opposite of San Francisco, which had a very nice spring season but is now currently 0-23 and staring at a potential winless season.

Santa Clara wins the 2nd overtime set of the match 26-24, to defeat LMU 3-1. That is seven straight losses for them. Next up, San Francisco.
San Diego closes out the match against Saint Mary's, 25-22 in the 4th, to take the match 3-1.

I didn't watch the Santa Clara/LMU match...maybe someone who did can comment on what happened to LMU??? I watched their match vs. BYU and they looked pretty good! You'd think a team that puts up a fight like that against BYU could handle Santa Clara...guess not

You'd think a team that puts up a fight like that against BYU could handle Santa Clara...guess not Well, unfortunately for LMU, I would say their valiant performance against BYU is more the exception than the rule for them lately. Not only have they lost seven straight matches, but they've lost nine of their last 10, defeating only Portland. Losing Geissberger really hurt them. |

Looking at the stats...LMU led in hits, hit %, blocks, assists and digs. The only stats going Santa Clara's way were fewer service errors (11-18) and 2 more service aces. Was this the difference maker?
