Olmstead and Bower were locks for Coach of the Year and Setter of the Year, respectively. And Koerber was the frontrunner for Player of the Year, so that's not surprising. Tubbs winning Libero of the Year is a bit of a surprise, but she's a really good player, so I don't have an issue with it. I didn't look into the freshmen that closely, but when I was doing the weekly awards, Chillingworth was often in the conversation, so she makes sense.

Surprised Muraoka from Portland and Stanger from Pepp were not on the all Freshman squad. Their defense was solid throughout the season.

My notes from the awards:
1. POY, SOY and probably COY were no-brainers 2. LOY should've 100% gone to Shields. 3. I agree with the above ^ that Shields should've at least been on 1st-team ahead of Benbow. 4. Kamake-eaina should've made the all-freshman team. 5. No other major complaints. Congrats to all of the winners!

Congrats to all of the winners! I think coach of the year may have been the biggest no-brainer of all. If you go undefeated in conference, you're getting coach of the year. As for Shields, I seem to remember from previous years that maybe she isn't the best passer? If that's true, that may have hurt her. I don't have VolleyMetrics stats, though.
