134 schools that played D1 in 2019 have posted a full schedule. Among those teams - there are 97 fewer nonconference matches and 18 conference. Something with budget cuts that I was wondering and will keep tracking. A lot of these 2021 non conference matches were initially planned for 2020 non conference before they were scrapped.

Also hard to plan non-conference on short notice? I imagine that also played a role. Could be teams are hedging their bets as well. Certain parts of the country are no out of this thing yet. We could still see cancellations in Fall. Lots of unknowns out there.

The frequency of Two matches in a day seems to have been dropping pretty consistently (and for good reason). Which conferences reduced their number of conference matches?

Something with budget cuts that I was wondering and will keep tracking. I know you mentioned conference changes earlier - I find Towson's schedule to be quite unique. Their HC actually made a VT appearance and said how rare it is for the CAA to get an at-large bid when there was an RPI question about them, but, in recent years they have found themselves with Top 50 RPI teams, thus, at-larges are not out of discussion for that conference. Anyways, They play a CAA series in week 4 (I don't remember this happening from the CAA in the past.) They have 12 non-conference matches scheduled in the first 3 weeks, playing 4 matches per week, yet they do have an off-week in the middle of the season (this is because of the new CAA format of back-to-back matches, but, with 9 members, they now have an odd man out each week). I think it would have made more sense to push back the conference tournament, but, I imagine they didn't want to do that for whatever reason.

Mid-major administrators absolutely do not want to work Thanksgiving weekend. Kudos to the few exceptions to that rule.

We could still see cancellations in Fall. Lots of unknowns out there. Y' think? Just this past week an MLB game, a WBC Heavyweight Championship fight, and the inaugural Maryland Cycling Classic were postponed...plus an outbreak at the CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer tourney: with subsequent isolations and quarantines. The first athletes' C-19 Delta Variant outbreaks in the Tokyo 2020* Olympic Village were reported in the past 2-3 days. So everything is back to normal, ya?

MVC has always had their conference tourney during Thanksgiving and the following Fri and Sat (well, perhaps not ALWAYS, but as far back as I've been following them). And with the exception of 2020

CUSA only having 12 conference matches seems crazy. I think Southland is only down 2. Southland and NEC are still playing full double round robins I believe. Their reductions were a result of losing teams.

Only play teams in their division. Rice and Western Kentucky will not play each other unless/until the conference tournament. I have Middle Tennessee only playing 23 games unless their schedule is incomplete. Down from 29 in 2019.
