Just guessing. I don't think Washington State wants to play 2 matches in one day. I think we may see something similar in their schedule on another weekend (when it comes out) where there are 4 teams at a site and Washington State ends up playing just 2 of the 3 teams. Or, it could be Rice that has made that decision? For Rice - adding Washington State as an 11th nonconference match is probably not good for their RPI. As is - they have 10 nonconference matches and 5 guaranteed T75 opponents. Possible that adding WSU could cost them a schedule bonus. I had that thought as well about 2 matches in one day. But why would Rice want to play South Carolina for example and not Washington State? I would be completely stunned if Washington State is not a T75 team. I *think* I would rather have Washington State instead of South Carolina on my schedule. And there may not have been a choice if it was Washington State making the call. If not; Playing any middle of the conference PAC12/B1G team is usually a bad RPI risk. They are good enough to beat you and are unlikely to have a good record and there is the risk they have a bad record.

Some thought Washington State was the best team in the PAC before COVID struck their team last year. I don't think they are the preseason favorite by any means, but they have some very good players: Dalton, Magda, Pukis, Timmer. There is a lot of uncertainty in the PAC though at the Top. I think the distance between #1 and #6 for example might be the smallest ever. We'll see.

I have the top 5 being very close in the PAC and then Utah, Arizona, and Washington State in the next section. Maybe Colorado also. I can see a scenario where those top 5 teams don't lose but a couple matches outside themselves in conference. Kind of like what we have been seeing in the B1G for a while.

Why is Rice not playing Washington State at that opening tournament?? Just guessing. I don't think Washington State wants to play 2 matches in one day. My guess is that Washington State didn't want to play Rice immediately after playing Pitt (without any rest in between). Rice would be resting/recovering while they watch the WSU vs Pitt match.
In 4-team tournaments, one team is always put in the position of having to play back-to-back matches. When South Carolina first published their schedule, it became obvious that WSU was the team put in this position. In most tournaments I've seen, it is a 150+ RPI team that is stuck playing the back-to-back matches.
I never see the Host team put themselves in the position to play the back-to-back matches, so I assume it is considered to be a disadvantage. For the coaches out there; How much of a disadvantage is it for the team that plays the back-to-back match?

they have 10 nonconference matches and 5 guaranteed T75 opponents. who is making that guarantee? How can you guarantee RPI rankings before a single match has been played for the season?

Around 200 of the ~ 340 D1 schools have posted a full schedule. We got a pretty large drop last week - I expect another large drop of schedules this week?

According to my records - the SEC was the first conference to have all teams post their schedule (I think Missouri was the last to post).
Brown and Penn posting has made the Ivy League the 2nd conference with full posting.

Summit is 70%. Western Illinois was most recent. Denver South Dakota and St Thomas left. Waiting for detail on the IUPUI tournament 9/3-9/4 for Western Illinois. Until then, I mark them as incomplete for now.
