I’m surprised there’s no Semi-Pro men’s Volleyball team in Hawaii competing in the NVA or other leagues. Seems like the perfect sport to have as your local pro-team as far as fan base. Just need an investor and some local guys who are willing to do it on the side of their full time job. i honestly love that idea. I'd love to see our former bows play together and take on other teams from the NVA or VLA. It'd be a money maker too considering how popular men's volleyball is here. Really wishing that happens in the near future.

I wonder if there are any men’s game fans with deep pockets that would be willing to get it started, I’m sure there are clubs willing to open up their practice gyms. Not sure how many former warriors are on the islands but i can even see a few mainland players relocating to Hawaii for the opportunity, if they can afford it.

OH Filip Humler - Junior Kana'i Akana - Junior Chaz Galloway - Sophomore Spyros Chakas - Sophomore Devon Johnson - Sophomore Makua Marumoto - Freshman Cole Ottmar - Freshman
Middle Max Rosenfeld- Junior Guilhereme Voss - Sophomore Kurt Nusterer - Freshman
OPP Alaka'i Todd - Sophomore Cole Hogland - Sophomore Dimitrios Mouchlias - Freshman Trevalyan Kelly - Freshman
Setter Jakob Thelle - Junior Brett Sheward- Sophomore Austin Buchanan - Freshman Jack Walmer - Freshman
Libero Eleu Choy - Libero Logan Sharp - Libero
There is a lot of OH but very few middle. Are there any incoming middles or can any OH play middle?

I know Thelle has come a long way and is setting a great location. That being said, he still lacks speed, mobility and defense. With Hawaii graduating so much passing and overall ball control I question whether Thelle will still be the answer for a greener Hawaii roster? Maybe a Walmer with more ball control, quickness to run down less than perfect passes and solid defense will be a better match for the new look? I think Thelle got quicker at the end of the season. Most probably they will stick with Thelle. Thelle might not be as fast as Sheward but he brings stability.

He is a lefty with a gnarly serve, he can hit on two and stands at 6' 6". With his championship match experience, no one is going to unseat him.

For all the attributes you listed about Thelle, he was actually pretty conservative with attacking on 2 this year, which I was actually happy about because it seemed like her focused more on locating his hitters in the right spots.

By the way, Humler, Akana, Rosenfeld and Thelle are listed as junior but they are technically 4th year players already. Any news if they will do a Gage and graduate and just do three years of playing?
Humler had a very promising 2020 performance. But if he don't get back to his 2020 physical form for this upcoming season, I think he should call it quits to his NCAA career and concentrate in going pro.

I think its wise to just not change Thelle and Galloway since they were pretty stable all season long. Voss though had high and low performances but I think he is better than Nusterer. Of all the incoming freshman, I think Kelly is the only one who is NCAA ready. Might start as opposite? Mouchlias was ok on the few times he was put in court as opposite but he was just OK. How bout Todd? Is he good in the opposite?

He's got international experience & if he continues to progress on his rehabilitation I think he's got the inside track. We never seen Alaka'i play even when the guys were up in lop sided sets.

It’s nice to cite but in the grand scheme of things doesn’t really mean he’s the future at OPP, I also thought he was only OK when he came in 2020. I think the opposite spot is pretty much up for grabs.

Middles will all see a more or less equal amount of playing time between the 3ish that we have unless Presho really does transfer then we probably see him more than the freshmen. Libero, OPP, and the other OH are pretty much wide open at this point.
