Confused on how he would be the worst possible option if he's a very talented player? Didn't his Manhattan Beach Surf team do well in Las Vegas and his Loyola High School team do well in CIF too? Can totally see him being a hot head, from what i've seen he gets very engaged but never seems to be a bad teammate? USA is a very proud and respectful organization, Dillon Klein is a poor teammate a poor sport and all around a bad representative for USA Someone really hates Dillon Klein...

ASC as everyone knew it no longer exists. They lost their lease last August due to strict California Covid lockdowns. USAV women's and men's national teams continue to train there. Their offices, strength/conditioning facilities as well as 12 volleyball courts remain. They operate as the USA Volleyball National Training Center. NTDP invitations went out last week for the following groups- MCNT (Men's Collegiate National Team) Men's U21 Boys U19. USAV has also invited U19 teams from the following federations- Bulgaria, Canada and Puerto Rico. All groups will participate in training/competition from July 28-August 5. This is incorrect. Blackrock/Blackwater or whatever evil real estate conglomerate was pretty soulless about the way they were demanding rent even though there was no way to collect revenue. They had the money to be lenient, especially considering how important this center was to youth sports, they chose not too. Not everything was a California lockdown problem.

Biggest U19 Team snub is Luke Benson the 18s HS Senior- 6’7” OH going to BYU. Many have him as the #1 OH of 2021 class.
He switched clubs I think to Legacy, where he was a 1 man show earlier this season. Is he injured or why the snub?

that would make sense. but how come they would decline? interesting. Could be totally wrong and off but the six man is that weekend and both those players have played in the past? just found out today that Klein declined because he's playing in the six man....nice call. not sure about Birg.

A Hawaii team wins 17s Open at BJNC and four of the Hawaii SASVB 17 Open players receive All Tournament honors, including All Tournament MVP, and not one Hawaii player makes U18 USA Training Group?

A Hawaii team wins 17s Open at BJNC and four of the Hawaii SASVB 17 Open players receive All Tournament honors, including All Tournament MVP, and not one Hawaii player makes U18 USA Training Group? I can gurantee a number of players were missed this year and that can simply be due to lack of exposure, opportunity and play due to over a year of COVID.....or laziness on the part of USA selection committee On the other hand if we played this tourney next week, I would bet that you would see some different teams in gold and different teams in the final. results.advancedeventsystems.com/event/PTAwMDAwMjIwMTI90/divisions/96612/standings. You do realize that at one point SAS was 3-3 with straight set losses to WAVE, MVC and Pulse. Heck 352 was 0-3 after day 1 !!! And was 4-4 going into the Gold bracket. If we were going on records, then some players from NFVB 7-2 (15-6) and WPVC 7-2 (15-7) hopefully are on this 18U team. 😋 #1 this is a testament to these kids and coaches on both the 352 and of course SAS teams to stay focused and compete no matter what. What a great lesson for other kids. #2 congrats to SAS on the 2021 National Championship. I'm sure they turned coaches' heads around the country. But I do think that a few spots should be held until after Nationals to get some kids in the gym that USA missed, especially in a situation where so much has been missed in the area of growth ans scouting and certain areas of the country were NOT allowed to compete and travel.

I mean, it takes about 12 hours of flying, a 5 hour time change, and 8 am games means it’s 3 am Hawaii time when they play. I know USAV sent a scout out to Hawaii. SASVB has several players committed to top D1 schools and Hawaii consistently sends players up through the National Team pipeline so it just seems like a big oversight that no players from Hawaii got a slot.

There are a handful of Hawaii players on the different U16-U19 NDTP training teams. However, all we are seeing are the people that accepted this summers NTDP training session. You aren't see the names of the kids that declined the invite. One thing to remember is that this NTDP training in Anaheim isn't free. It was roughly 1K for 5 days of training and you have to provide your own transportation to the event. It also didn't have the big 5 day tournament afterwards like you had with HP. So if you were a family from Hawaii that just flew to KC for a week, paying for another plane ticket, plus 1K for training is a pretty big chunk of change. On a similar note, when you look at the numbers it seems like there are a lot of SoCal kids at the event. For the same $$'s reasons as Hawaii, I would bet the SoCal number would drop if they put this event in Colorado, Georgia, Florida ... and those local SoCal kids had to buy another plane ticket to fly to a 5 day training event.

What players would you exchange? I’m not here to disrespect anyone chosen, thanks though. If it is an oversight then it sounds like you are saying that there are some kids not on the list that should be on the list. That would mean kids have to come off the list. It is not unreasonable for someone to ask the question given you are critiquing the list and indirectly critiquing players on the list.
