Heading into Gstaad, this is how the top 8 seeds should be, based on team entry points:
1. Joanouk - 2960 (host team gets 1 seed if they're top 8) 2. Australia - 3360 (they're still holding onto the 3rd place finish at 2019 WC) 3. Dudatha - 2800 4/5/6. MHPavs, ATeam, Slaes - 2560 (tiebreak will come down to the team's technical points) 7. Ana Patricia/Rebecca - 2520 8. Russia - 2320

You want to be 6th going into the Olympics, right?

You want to be 6th going into the Olympics, right? That’s what I thought too, but no. It’s a pot of all the #7-12 teams (#6-11 actually, since the Japanese squad gets bumped up) and they get randomly drawn into the 6 pools. All of those teams have an equal shot at getting the easy pool. Also, seeding is determined by Olympic qualifying points, rather than entry points, so it’s already set in stone. Slaes will be #6 but get the bump down to 7 unfortunately.

You want to be 6th going into the Olympics, right? This event will have no impact on the Olympics. Ostrava was the last event that had Olympics qualification points on the line. This is just a tuneup event before the Olympics.

ATeam and MHPavs are actually tied in OR points right now. But I think Canada will have the advantage as they have more tech points. Does anyone know how the tiebreak works here?

Kolinske/Stockman might end up having just enough entry points to sneak into the main draw. Going through the rankings and taking out old teams and one-offs, they are 23rd right now in the world in entry points. China has two teams ahead of them, and neither are signed up for Gstaad, which would bump up to 21st and Bansley/Wilkerson to 20th. The Swiss already have two teams straight in, so even if both wildcards are given out, they should be safe. That's good news for everyone in the CQ! If Kerri/Brooke end up withdrawing, we will have a new team in the field for the first time this year on the women's side.

Looks like the ATeam has dropped out. Should we be worried about them?

When will we know the pairings/schedule for Tokyo? Less than 2 weeks before it starts?

Looks like the ATeam has dropped out. Should we be worried about them? Yikes… Edit: Dalcena and Cribb also dropped. Gstaad is often cited as players’ favorite place to play also. Still curious what happened to Alix and April. Last Thursday they won their elimination matches 21-12, 21-12 and 21-14, 21-9. No sign of any difficulty there. Then suddenly on Friday they dropped out. So strange.

Looks like the ATeam has dropped out. Should we be worried about them? I hope they have other ways of preparing for Tokyo than Gstaad... I say that b/c when healthy, I do believe they are the equal of Dudatha and Patti/Rebecca. Not sure in what form Patti/Rebecca will be in since they skipped quite a few tournaments lately... their last game was a Cancun 2 early loss to KWJ/BS. if memory serves I think i read here.. ankle?
