she'll swing this to a positive i'm sure... thats just how she is... it might not be completely authentic but that's her business... I wonder if her stock will go up actually people seeing how she did so well with such a injured partner... and having stayed "completely" healthy for 3 years (since ankle and shoulder surgery) no athlete is completely healthy... I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a stud defender and they do well... her play wasn't the reason she didn't make the olympics . If sara hughes had any hope for turning her career around, she's beg to play with kerri... I don't know about now but when she was with Kelly Claes, a big riff was because of difference in seriousness and focus... Kelly was late to practice... would take days off, and i heard the same about summer... maybe Sara and Kerri would be like a hyper focused volleyball team on crack! no ying yang there but it's a thought. Yes, it looks like, in hindsight, Kelly was the much weaker partner with no work ethic, and Sara turned out to be even better than advertised. Same with Summer - Sara was the much stronger partner and the only one who worked hard enough to win. Are we sensing a bit of a pattern here? Generally speaking, it seems to be true that when one person is always the one blaming others, the real blame lies within. So IMHO, it would be icing on the cake to see her begging to play with a 40-something partner whose ego may be too big to simply retire gracefully. I'm sure that would prove to be a much better career move than she made in dumping Kelly! Technically, if everything stated on here about the Sara/Kelly partnership was true, it sounds like Sara was justified in pulling the plug. But the thing is, even immediately after that breakup (i.e., before history repeated itself with Summer apparently), Sara seems to be the one who fell out of favor among fans, myself included, whereas you would think it would be the apparently slacking Kelly who fell out of favor. Maybe Kelly actually started missing practice AS A RESPONSE TO feeling not supported in some way by Sara...maybe even on an unconscious level, like you forget to change a filter in your car and then have car trouble and can't make practice, and you think it was just absent mindedness but it might be your unconscious causing this forgetfulness to happen as "revenge" for being treated poorly in some way by Sara. Maybe if they, or more typically an outsider had spurred a discussion of, okay, how do each of you feel about the partnership, what are things you like, what would you like to see change...Maybe things could have been different if Kelly in fact had grievances that instead went undiscussed.

There are two sides to every breakup. I’m sure Kelly was tempted to fire back at Sara with all her grievances, but it’s a sign of maturity that she didn’t do so, at least not publicly.

There was references here (or some other post) that Brooke Sweat had some injury that evidently affected their play. Anyone have anything on that? I didn't know that she wasn't playing at full steam.

She doesn't need the money, and her shoulder is hash by now... why continue abusing your body? Oh, whatg do I know. Maybe they will have complete shoulder replacement (not repair) surgery in a few years.? I know quite a few people who have had successful shoulder replacement surgery in recent years. www.healthline.com/health/shoulder-replacementHowever, the recovery was lengthy and none of them hoped to go on to compete at the highest level of sport...just to resume a somewhat normal life.

the last tournament it was clear that brooke was broken... i mean she couldn't even move... i wouldn't be shocked by a daunting knee surgery type injury.

After Rio, AVP started the match point freeze rule and KWJ did not like that it was not discussed with the players, so she stopped playing in AVP and thus limited her partner options.

Well, that’s part of it, but even before that the AVP didn’t pay her the promotional bonuses in her contract. She sued the AVP and apparently won in court.
