Long story short, I love beach volleyball and want to make my way to SoCal. At the same time, I have no desire to drop my career and grind for the AVP. I'm wondering if there are any vets on this board who work in the life sciences industry (pharma/biotech) in the SoCal area (LA or San Diego would be great) who would be open to connecting. Yeah this post is probably better for LinkedIn but thought I might as well try to cast my net wide. Thanks for looking into this. Would you have any interest in academic research? I know it may be lower pay depending on your company especially compared to hours worked, but the UC system has amazing benefits (including subsidized housing opportunities and full coverage dental, medical, and vision at the cheapest rates I’ve seen) and and usually is quite flexible in the hours worked. Starting at a UC with a one year contract could open you up to networking with local biotech companies around here. I’m not one to help you with networking based on my position, and I know you probably want to stay in industry, but maybe this helps!

I might be able to help. I do AI/ML for life science companies. My current client is in the Bay area, though there are some possible deals in San Diego that I might get put onto in the next 12 months. What's your timeline for the move?
