THIS is what concerns me about Krob. She got stopped on every attempt just now. OOS she is a liability. USA fast doesn’t have to be small…. The athletes are available to run fast AND tall, but they just aren’t the tenured vets. Plummer-Rettke-JT for ‘24 and KRob can come along at Libero👍

Everyone team plays down and looks like %*$# against %*$# competition. Half these posters want the US to fail because they don’t like KK and some of his choices. USA will be just fine with this roster in Tokyo. My bet is the medal. I would love the USA to medal. Don't get it twisted. I just think that Karch didn't make the best roster choices. I am allowed to have that opinion. So are others on this board. So when the team struggles, how can I not think that better #choices could have been made? I was not really referring to you in wanting them to fail. But some definitely do. I think Plummer as the 4th outside would have been a good pick. My fear is this team being able to put a ball down on the outside against China, and Serbia. She would help ease that fear for me.

Half was a huge embellishment on my part.

I agree. Alas, we'll never know.

Japan will punish the USA for this sloppy play. Tomorrow is going to be a good test for the USA. We will smoke Japan tomorrow ....not so sure about that.

Is japan better receiver than usa? I doubt it. But it's always entertaining to watch usa vs japan match. Usa won in 5 but again that was Krob-larson ohs.
When mbh play against chn in set 2 in world cup it was better. So yes, as we all agree we want a terminal oh and with that roster the best option for that role is mbh.

*FIVB* USA Stats:
Thompson: 18k, 3e, 37 att (.405); 3 blks; 3 s.err; 7 digs Robinson: 12k, 2e, 30 att (.333); 1 blk; 1 ace, 1 err; 16 digs Larson: 10k, 4e, 21 att (.286); 5 s.err; 13 digs Akinradewo: 8k, 12 att (.666); 1 blk; 2 s.err; 4 digs Ogbogu: 4k, 7 att (.571); 2 blks; 2 s.err; 1 dig Poulter: 1k, 1 att (1.00); 1 ace, 1 err; 8 digs Wong-Orantes: 11 digs Hill: 1 s.err
Reception: Wong-Orantes: 13 successful, 1 err, 5 so-so, 19 att (63.2%) Larson: 5 successful, 1 err, 12 so-so, 18 att (22%) Robinson: 3 successful, 1 err, 7 so-so, 11 att (18%) Poulter: 1 successful, 1 err, 2 att (0%)
A ton of service errors, but I also think the USA kinda played down to Belgium's level, especially after the first, which makes sense since our game is so system-based and isn't really about overpowering our opponents physically. Good game for Thompson, and I like those middle hit%s. It looks like Kelsey didn't have as bad of a day as y'all were making it out to be though, but the stats might be wrong. Seems like Belgium kinda spread the love a little bit on serving but a pretty good day for JWO to bounce back after Italy, even if the serving is significantly worse. I think we play at a much higher level consistently against Japan, the same way we did against Brazil. I'm sure the team knows that Japan is the first *good* team they've played in a while.

Robinson didn't have an awful day, but what those stats don't tell are the kinds of swings she took and the kinds of kills she got. A win is a win. I think what most people were observing is, the swings she took today won't get the job done in the Olympics. A lot of her hard swings were either blocked, touched, or dug. Again, part of that is building that connection with Poulter. I did love what I saw from Thompson though! Feels good to know what one OPP lacks, the other compliments.

I really like the JT-Drew’s duo. It really feels like if one doesn’t got it going, the other one is going to be able to step in. Something we haven’t seen for awhile.

It's such a good fit and I feel like they're learning from each other, which is great.

JTs contact point is just ridiculous whereas Drews has her “unique” swing going on lol
