No rumored Florida event, but I'm just happy to see some events on the schedule! All in different regions of the country, too!

Hopefully Amazon Prime will still show the matches like before.
Hope our Olympic teams aren’t too burned out from Tokyo and can play these 3 domestic events before the season ends (hasn’t even begun) 😅

August in Georgia will be a scorcher. Three events is better than none.

Just checked that Tokyo olympics concludes on August 8th. So the first event in Georgia is a week after the Olympics.

atlanta conflicts with seaside And Seaside is now affiliated with AVP Next and AVP America. Wonder what the size of the Atlanta field is. Will qualifier-level teams be better off skipping Atlanta for Seaside? There are also a couple 1/2 Star events in Europe during Atlanta and Manhattan Beach for those who want FIVB points. Plus, King of the Court is in Hamburg during Manhattan Beach and Utrecht the following weekend. So there will be plenty of other opportunities for any players who don't sign the AVP contract.

Is being anti-contract still a thing?

I can't find any details on the size of the draws, but VolleyballMag did release the purse sizes for each. It's going to be $100k for the men's and women's each for Atlanta and Chicago, and $125k for the MBO. The last time the AVP was in Atlanta, the size of the draw was 24 teams. Manhattan is usually 32 teams, and Chicago has traditionally been 24 teams before it got shrunk down TO 16 in 2019 because of the beach erosion. The lake is lower this year, so hopefully there is enough beach to go back to 24 teams. The split setup last time between Oak Street and North Avenue worked pretty well. If they could squeeze in one more court at Oak Street by the stadium, I think it could work again with 24.

Champions Cup last year were $100k but only paid top 18 with just 6 automatic main draw berths. There was talk last year that keeping the main draw smaller makes for a more compelling TV product. I guess only the automatic main draw teams need to worry about the contract up front, however many that is. It will be interesting to see how they distribute the prize money this year. The Champions Cup payouts were less top heavy than in previous years.

They had a practice court south of the stadium and room for another full court before you got to the only food stand last year in Chicago, don't see why they couldn't utilize both sides of the stadium like they have in the past.
