B2B 18s is not great. Their little opposite has quite the big attitude for such a small guy. I think people are sleeping on MB Surf just a little bit. Not sure 352 haas what it takes i don't think that anyone is sleeping on MB Surf. they have a great roster. I agree they have so much potential

Are there any underdogs that can crack gold bracket that you guys see for Open divisions? I'm saying MOD for 17s and AZ Fear for 18s

I'm saying MOD for 17s and AZ Fear for 18s is "underdog" code for "non-cali teams?" either way, i like it. let's do this. az fear 18s a good choice for cracking the gold bracket for sure. finished 5th in socal showcase. spike and serve 18s have a shot. beat mb surf and ocvc in jbi and finished 4th. aspire 17s (az) could get into gold. finished 4th in jbi adversity 17s - finished 5th in jbi

Rockstar and Surf didn't play and Balboa didn't have their starting setter.

Gabe was there for the final day and they were beaten by vanguard. they went undefeated before Gabe got there, so his absence wasn't really felt

Anyone know why the rest of the 17 and 18's pools haven't been released?

The QTL has been been updated today with the at large bids - the Open divisions look set, and the USA divisions look done, now, too. 18 Open At Large: Bay to Bay 18-1 COAST 18-Jake SCVC 18Quiksilver Vegas United B18Navy WAVE 18 Darrell 17 Open:630 Volleyball 17-1 COAST 17-Fiapo Pinnacle 17-Whitt FRVBC 17 Boys WAVE 17 Jon 16 Open:Aspire 16 Spiderman BORINQUEN COQUI 16-1M Chicago Bounce 16 Red Cinci Attack 16 Black HPSTL B16 Royal IMUA UVC 16UA MVC 16-Brad Outrigger 16s 303VBA 16 Mizuno Blue SB Coast 16 15 Open:SASVBC B 15-1 630 Volleyball 15-2 (GL) BORINQUEN COQUI 15-1M (PU) Cinci Attack 15 Black (OV) COAST 15-Bowie MKE Sting 15 Adidas OPVC 15 McCormick (OV) Team Rockstar 15 Rockstar (SC) Can someone shed some light on how Vegas United B18Navy received an Open at-large bid when they didn't participate in any bid tournaments?

I think they got a bid from winning SCVA West Coast Classic. I heard they were giving bids out at that. I think one per division?

Can someone shed some light on how Vegas United B18Navy received an Open at-large bid when they didn't participate in any bid tournaments? I think they got a bid from winning SCVA West Coast Classic. I heard they were giving bids out at that. I think one per division? There were no bids, officially - they are listed as "at large". Your theory is an interesting one, but fails when tested by 15s - Evolution 15 won WCC in 15s, but is in club for BJNC (the WCC #2, Rockstar 15 did get an at large, so... interesting - dunno if Evo applied, though). Vegas did win the weakened WCC in 16's, 17s, and 18s, and all three got at large's, but the former two are both in USA. Having seen/played VU17s in the fall so cal cup, being in USA is about right - they're in line with the So Cal teams in 17 USA. That said - for the last actual BJNC, and for the division I tracked (then, 15s), WCC had an enormous impact on seeding. So it's not out of line to think that the at large committee looked at those results, even if WCC isn't what it was that year. And it's also not out of line to think USAV may be rewarding clubs for not abandoning SCVA's event.

18 Open is up, as is the balance of 17's. Looks like the only divisions missing now are 18 Club / USA.
As a follow up to the above on Vegas - in 17 USA they were gifted the #2 seed, and Cal VB was gifted the 4 overall seed. The thread that connects both? At larges, who played WCC. Not complaining - the pools look good overall - just noting that USAV pretty clearly set out to reward the clubs that played WCC and not the SCC showcase. I expect SG 18's to be the top seed in 18 USA, since Vegas got the Open bid.

Any thoughts of who is gonna take 17 USA? Looks like a competitive division. Also, I feel that the seedings in that division were really confusing. Why was Adversity awarded the third seed?

That was very confusing! 7-12 record on AES! [br I would definitely put AZ Fear as a favorite and then drop down to pool 6 and look at High Flyers and HPSTL who both did well at Lafata. Seems like pool 2 and 3 are the easiest pools, with pool 6 being the toughest pool in my opinion. Not sure if teams should be just racking up wins playing USA at bid tournaments because it looks like playing open for many teams only hurt them in seeding for USA at Nationals.
