Its more...like what some fans expect and what she has in mind to win gold are different sometimes. I remember there was a big uproar among Chinese fans who were surprised that Lang Ping didn't bring Zeng Chunlei and instead brought the then inexperienced and untested Gong Xiangyu for Rio. But the 4 year cycle leading up to Rio is different to the period leading up to Tokyo. China was down and out after London and Lang Ping had to rebuild the whole team from the ground up, bringing in new players like Zhu Ting to replace veterans like Wang Yimei. Naturally, she has to try some risky choices and strategies to make a breakthrough. But in the period up to Tokyo, rather than starting from scratch again, Lang Ping can consolidate and build on what she has created as a foundation at Rio. To refine the roster and further build up the strength of the team and reduce its weakness. So there is less need for surprise this time. |

edit: but yea, it is a rare thing. I think even Serbia is gonna take a backup for Boskovic

Is 1 opposite a rare thing? I'm guessing that some of the outsides (Zhang, LIu Yanhan) will have to play opposite. Not "truly" one opposite like Italy & Egonu.

It’s not like Sorokaite hasn’t played OPP for Italy before, though. |

Serbia-Italy play at 1pm CT/2pm ET tomorrow. Right now im riding the struggle bus with trying to find a link to RTS 2 (the channel may be offline so there may be better luck tomorrow) but I'll leave this in case it does work tomorrow freestreams-live1.com/rts-2/
