China is their worst match-up by far, and they wanted to avoid a resurgence. It didn't happen though. I also think Korea is taking this match off emotionally. They're not good but will at least put up more of a fight in the quarters.
Kinda sucks now though. Losing the guarantee to be opposite at least one of USA/Italy/russia but with this games, it probably wouldn't matter with how messy everyone is. They already were. Turkey def. Argentina 3-0 before the Serbia-Brazil match happened. |

#4 Pool A (Winner of Dominican Republic/Japan) will NOT play Italy. #1 Pool B will be USA or Russia.
#1 Pool A is Brazil. They will play #4 Pool B which will be either Russia or Turkey. Yes, Russia can still win the pool OR be #4 in the pool.
Serbia and Korea will be #2/#3 in Pool A. In Pool B, literally anyone can still be #2 or #3.

They would have to drop the two sets they lost by over 20 points combined to fall behind the USA. That would be a Turkish beat down if that occurred. Then they would have to win narrowly the final three. The odds of that happening......lol....honestly....in the Games, anything is possible. |
