Alternates canโt stay at the olympic village or official workout/training premises. If a team wants to bring an alternate, they have to he housed somewhere. Do you have anymore information or a link about alternates? This probably explains why most NT decided not to bring alternates since they won't even be allowed to train together at the venue. So does that mean alternates will just have to wait where they're housed until they are called if needed?

So Italy & Argentina are having friendly matches on July 10th (20:30) and July 11th (18:00) times are listed based in Cisterna. Disclaimer, they haven't really specified if they're streaming it but I will try to keep an eye out for a stream link or if anyone wants to help me find one that would be cool too

I swear I heard Speraw say that the men were going to scrim Japan in his post-match interview at the VNL. Wonder if that's going to happen.

I hope they do happen (and it's streamed lol) because I want to see an updated view of Anderson + Sander going into the Olympics. Also, I read in a Japanese article that Nishida was close to pain-free when he started playing towards the end of VNL, so seeing him after he gets even more time to regain his touch/get back into full rhythm will be exciting.

I have to ask, do teams get their own gym for training when they reach Tokyo? The France team has been using the gym in Okinawa. Did France rent this area or is this a location that the olympics committee give? Will France need to share the gym when other teams arrive?

Stream on rai sports for the Argentina-Italy friendly is up, Iโm using a vpn though.
Italy does not look that great (passing is kinda sus rn), but itโs still early. Lavia is starting as the second OH.
Update: Italy takes set 1, 35-33

Argentina takes set 2, 25-19. They passed/served pretty well and De Cecco is De Cecco.
For Italy, Zaytsevโs touch on his serve has looked off. Michieletto was subbed on and has looked good. Juantorena passed decently but lapses in passing seems to be one of Italyโs limiting factors.
