Three future/current/former Huskers on the team. U-18 team = Rebekah Allick, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly. U-20 team = Lexi Rodriguez, Ally Batenhorst and Lindsay Krause. Olympics = Jordan Larson, Kelsey Robinson and Justine Wong Orantes. Question: When does this stop being a trend and start being standard? It should be no surprise that a top program is going to attract top athletes. If you look in and around the various USA teams you will also find a lot of past and future Gophers. Kudos to Cook for having a program that is identifying and recruiting top talent.

Huskers need 1/4+ players on the College National Team next year.

They're still trying to go 5/12, but it probably won't happen. I wish...

I am now looking forward to Sept. 20-29. Me too, it will be my first look at the (can we call them) the fearsome foursome.

Several things note worthy about the 12 on this team: 1) there is only one player from California; 2) the 2 setters are from South Dakota and Wyoming; 3) the head coach and his staff are elite and will benefit everyone on this team. 🏐

Perhaps something you aren't going to want to hear...none of this actually matters. This is little more than hype and won't substantially change anything about the Nebraska program. Nebraska has been a premier volleyball program for decades - that's not going to change. Year in and year out, Nebraska has contended for both a conference and national championships for decades - that's not going to change. Nebraska has a die hard fan base that bleeds "go big red" - that's not going to change. Nebraska has attracted elite recruits both regionally and nationally for decades - that's not going to change. Nebraska will graduate athletes that may or may not eventually be future Olympians - that's not going to change. So nothing about this possible "trend starting to become standard" changes anything for Nebraska....but if you just want to come on here and brag, just say that!

Shouldn't be surprising that homers think their recruits deserve the best.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Singletary isn't just as good as the middle blockers that made it. But, these are limited tryouts ..... who can develop a connection with these particular setters the quickest, who can read these particular setters the quickest (to close the block)? who has the better serve..... these are the small things that probably actually determine who makes the team and who doesn't. Frankly, I don't think anyone should be "surprised" about one player making it over the other. And if you DO, perhaps it is just your bias showing?
