so interesting that the bros in this class are getting such early commitments. Anyway Chicoine players front row in college? Or did every school recruit her as a libero? Time will tell. She’s still blowing people up with her offense and range of shots in club and high school ball. Offensively, I think she can do it. For me, the blocking would just be too big of a liability. I read an article about her commitment from a local paper. It said Rose considered her a 6 rotation player. I do know that she wanted to hit in college. I don’t think she would have committed to anyone who wouldn’t at least lie and tell her she could hit. Like I said, time will tell.

I thought so because she was on that team with Choboy, Carter, Allick, Wucherer et al, a couple of years ago but maybe not? Maybe she got an invite for the 19U team. She is not listed on the U20 team. but she could be the very youngest in that group if she has a late 03 birthday.

Or it could be that she had a commitment that conflicted or she just got beat out (this IS the most likely). She is a quality player, but she’s not changing the face of volleyball or anything. Frankly, I’ve been entirely underwhelmed by the class of 2022. If Hayden Kubik is the best player in the class (prep vb seems to think so), I think this class is going to be forgotten pretty quickly. And this isn't to say the Kubik is bad (on the contrary, she's high quality player), but I just don't see the wow factor and, IMO, she doesn't stand out compared to other pins in her class. I also don't think the crop of 2022 pins are as good as other years. All grain of salt - Plummer didn't WOW me in high school either and I've had to eat my words on that one - though to be fair, she was used completely differently in prep play than what she did in college.

Volleyball mag had her at the 5th spot. volleyballmag.com/2021-25-underclassmen-050821/

There's also a U19 team, or at the very least girls were invited to train at the U19 level.

It’s interesting to me that there are zero 2022/23Texas kids on this list? There are several players out of Houston/Dallas alone that can compete at this level.

I would assume that many of those kids were invited to the developmental camp of 75 girls, they just didn't crack the lineup of those being considered for the U18 team.

I have not seen the list of this years National Team Development Program invitees. I bet it will be published quickly after GJNC is over. However, looking at last year‘s A1 and A2 rosters may give people a loose indication of who might be invited this year. Many clubs have been posting announcements about players who were invited. For example, many players from Houston Skyline’s club teams were invited to the National Team Development Program. See their Instagram page for the list. Last year’s A1 and A2 rosters are divided by tabs on this page. usavolleyball.org/play/national-team-development-program/2020-high-performance-rosters/“Women’s Juniors“ equals U20 and includes young women born in 2002 and 2003. “Girls Youth” equals U18 and includes players born in 2004-05. “Girls Select” includes players born in 2006-07. USA volleyball creates these age groups based on international competition guidelines. The Boys age groups are different year divisions than the girls.

Swindle and Stucky are the setters. Stucky better setter than Carlson and way better than Lauren Carter. Haven't seen Reilly play in person. Was underwhelmed with Carter at Triple Crown. Choboy is the real deal. Here is my take: Bunton Chicoine Choyboy Kahahawai Mendelson Murray Rubin Singletary Stucky Swindle Wrobel Wucherer Gonna be interesting to see who the middles end up being. Thomas and Brandewie are very very good too. Swindle and Stucky are fantastic.

Ah, here’s the thread I was looking for. Couldn’t find it searching.
From USAV:
"Twelve players will be chosen from the training team to compete at the FIVB U18 World Championship on Sept. 20-29 in Durango, Mexico.
The team will practice on July 17-23 at the USAV training center in Anaheim, Calif."
When does the final roster of 12 come out?
