I was looking at BuckysHeat (buckysheat)'s profile pic which features two players with an extreme height differential, and got to wondering what some of the most extreme examples of this phenomenon have been. What is the record for the largest gap between the tallest and shortest teammates? Who are the tallest and shortest current players overall in NCAA VB? Who are the tallest and shortest all time? Any middles over 6'6? Liberos under 5'?

And she was a regular in their rotation for much of her career. iuhoosiers.com/sports/womens-volleyball/roster/kyndall-merritt/1911

For the current teams, Wisconsin has three of the tallest players in the country: Anna Smrek (6'9"), Dana Rettke (6'8"), Julia Wohlert (6'7')
Arizona has incoming freshman Jennifer Wroblicky (6'7")
For the shortest it's Murray State's Emma Kailiponi (4'11")
Illinois-Chicago has a trio of 5'0" players: Abigail & Amelia Sunga, America Galvan

As for 'teammates', for a starting point, the 2019 Wisconsin roster had Dana Rettke at 6' 8" and Emma Whitehead at 5' 3".
(BuckysHeat's photo is Rettke and Amber McDonald, I think. Amber was listed at 5' 4")

Either way *thumbs up*

She actually played basketball for four years at Michigan State, and was quite talented. She then did a fifth year for volleyball at GV. I actually had a class in the same lecture hall right before her, and we would often pass each other. I'm 6'1" and felt very small.

I predict Japan's #2 will stuff-block Brazil's #6 in my dreams tonight.

So like the earlier example, what team has the biggest range from smallest to tallest?
