So earlier I started a thread on how if you are Karch, how will you strategize against China, Italy, Serbia, Brazil and Russia. Now if instead you are them, how will you as a coach of China, Italy, Serbia, Brazil or Russia, strategize against the US? Who will you target?

Serve MBH Attack Zone 1 since both JT and JP have poor floor defense Attack Zone 5 since JWO cant pick up down the line hits yet OH of opposing teams should tool JT/JP’s block since they’re not established enough Just keep tipping since USA players can’t seem to reach the middle of the court in time to dig the balls (eg USA CHN WC)

I have my doubts...

Serve position 1 in rotation 1 since the USA's hitters do not like the reverse rotation (OPP at 4, OH at 2).

Are we really saying that Poulter is just flat-out bad at defense? Don't get me wrong, compared to Carlini or Hancock, she's definitely slower and digs less heat, but I don't think she's as horrible as people say that she is. And also, Poulter had some big-time blocks against Gabi in that Brazil match too. I accept that I might be a bit biased, but I definitely don't think her defense/blocking-as-a-setter is as big of a weakness compared to some of our other weaknesses.

Drews and Larson are the weakest blockers. Foluke too. The left side gets bullied with the Larson/Foluke combo. Ask Tandara lol

Also, who would start as the pins for USA? I think it should be Bartsch/Larson for outside but i dunno if it should be Thompson or Drews

I think our biggest problems for the upcoming Olympics will likely be tip coverage (as usual), pin termination*, and unless our opposites have improved their blocking, their blocking.
*if Drews and/or MBH get hot, we're a different team then.

Foluke was definitely getting beaten up by Tandara though, I wonder whether if that's something she learned from during the training block.
