do you even know what team Hancock played for this past club season? I’ve never seen you add anything of value to any international volleyball thread ever. Only trashing Carlini and praising Hancock. I’m genuinely curious if you know anything about this or are just stanning Hancock because she’s from PSU. I was team Hancock but she was absolutely horrid in her limited action against Russia last night. Of course, I know where she played. I don't participate in the international threads because I don't follow the foreign leagues as closely as I do the NCAA. As for Hancock being horrid in her limited action, it is never easy to come in cold off the bench, especially as a setter or server. Barney made a good point when he said she should have stayed in, given the score. More reps can result in better connections. I don't exactly stan any PSU players, including Hancock. I thought leaving Courtney at home was the right decision. You have to admit that the Cheesehead Jesus disciples on VT are way over the top in their praise of their lord & savior, as well as their criticism of Hancock. When I respond to that nonsense, I'm not stanning Hancock, but calling BS where it needs to be called. But it is ok for you praise Hancock?? Dude you got issues that you could dislike someone (Carlini) you don’t know. You act like Carlini did something to you. You obviously don’t know enough about her career so sit back and shut up and grow up!!

Finally got around to watching this one, and just finished. I'd say that the 1st and 3rd weren't as bad as I had expected after reading some of the reactions here. The 2nd was a train wreck into a manure pit topped with a tire fire.
Don't really have much to add to what has been said. Team still needs MBH to be top of her game to win anything. Need better, more consistent setting. Need a healthy JT. Cannot be forced to rely on KRob or Larson to carry the team offensively. Because they can't.
I haven't really seen this team clicking on all cylinders since the first 2 sets of the first Brazil match in the VNL. That seems to an aberration at this point. But, at least you know the potential is there to reach that level.

She is a non factor for the US in these Olympic games, like most of us expected, deal with it homer. Hancock hasn't been a factor yet. 2 opportunities. Correct. And like many of us thought that would be the case because in an every other day tourney, the 2nd setter Mens or Women's rarely if ever plays at all except in exceptional situations. We all know this. In fact, often only 9 to 10 players factor in an Olympic tourney and most often the 2nd setter is NOT one of those who do. We already have a designated serving sub in Hill. Robinson has yet to really factor in. On the men's side, Kawika hasn't played, MG, Ensing haven't factored in and Jaeschke barely. But absolutely feel free to champion your celebratory mute point. On a side note, curious to what and how many bench players on the US have "factored" after our 3-1 record.? Feel free to expound. Dude the starting setter has sucked connecting with the middles and Hancock can’t even be put in. I was under the impression that you insert your backup setter when the starting one struggles and not that your backup setter is just a serving specialist!

That really sucks about JT. Hopefully she can come back for the elimination rounds.

I don’t question KK’s coaching during matches. What seems to be obvious is that his choice of Setters and Leaders is just awful. Why can the Russians feature a 17 Year old yet KK refuses to even carry a player like Kathryn Plummer because she is inexperienced? This MUST be KK’s last year.

Both the men and women deserve new and better head coaches. Even as a die hard Bruin I know these two aren’t it.

Well sounds like you have an coaching decision issue and are making ....or shall I say espousing predetermined assumptions (and throwing pent up darts) about what can or cannot be done with players in this particular tourney. No worries I'm sure you have some hater buddies out there that can pat your back and say....I got you....right on....and I believe in you. No need to attack a player who was chosen by someone else.

Yes my issue is 100 percent with the person that choose Hancock and his coaching I have nothing against her she is a lovely girl.

I haven't praised Hancock as much as I've defended her from the unreasonable attacks of the Cheesehead Jesus cult. Well, Carlini is a public figure, at least in terms of volleyball. I don't really need to know her personally to form an opinion about her. After watching her during her entire NCAA career and her USAV career, I think I have a pretty good idea of what she is all about -- namely, herself.

Thank goodness our colours aren't red and yellow(0-3)(1-3)currently. 3-1 is what we have to work with. Let's move forward and get a win against Italy! Let's GO U.S.A.!!!!

When the last time Russia looked this good?
The VNL they did not look good, but yesterday they look like a gold medal team, regardless how bad USA played
