I have no idea what to expect of Iowa State this fall, but, she will definitely up their level! Is she for sure going back? She does have one year of eligibility left bc of covid right? As far as I know yes. She played last fell but didn't play the Spring to train with Argentina. NCAAVB made a post about her too, but that's not any confirmation. I could be wrong but I thought I saw something from Iowa State saying she was coming back too.

I hate how these announcers don't even know the scenarios of the games they're calling.
Especially when its Sunderland/Barnett.
OK, I get it, it's hard to account for all of them I guess. But, they *should* know that Turkey winning 3-0 or 3-1 eliminates China and advances Turkey. that's not difficult.

That was pretty evident already when they lost to Russia. It's usually not a good sign for a team to passively rely on how other team performs to get a qualification slot. At the end of the day, a team has to proactively create their own opportunities to win. China had their chances against Russia and they blew it. They can only blame themselves for not having the mental fortitude to overcome Zhu's injury and play consistent game. I mean, there is no excuse for China being so underprepared mentally. Sure, it's the Olympics. The pressure is high. But the pressure is high on all the teams. You just got to find a way to deal with it. And China couldn't find a way.

I don't know what will go down in Russia and Turkey game now. So unpredictable.

Korea being the only asian team in the quarterfinals is now a very real possibility, depending on how the match goes later tonight. Very unexpected.

I would say Naz is probably better setter for Turkey now for the QFs. Ozbay is good but doesn't have enough experience for this high level of games. Turkish team will be much better for Paris unless something dramatic happens.

Entirely different sport, this is volleyball, don't compare apple to oranges.

I correctly predicted China would lose to the USA in straight sets and ROC in 5 and wouldn't advance to the quarters after seeing their first match. Zhu's form is basically China's from. If she's in form she could carry the other players to victory. I keep wondering why they didn't do anything last year to cure Zhu's injury which has been bothering for 4 years.

I'm guessing her injury was on the mend but it suddenly flared up again after the VNL, and there was no time to recover before the Olympics.

12 serve errors from Turkey, that's a lot. That's all? It felt like they had 12 in the first 2 sets.
