Plummer is the future. SWP should've been there for Tokyo and should be there for '22. This SWP thing is a bit right? Like the poster who chimes in with “We all just want Lexi to be happy” for comic relief from time to time…. The last thing Team USA needs is another aging under sized OH.

The last thing Team USA needs is another aging under sized OH. aging? she's like 26 or 27. and no, it's legit. she had a really strong attacking season in Turkey, probably the best of any of our OHs, and isn't that big of a passing liability to make it a bad trade-off. and I wouldn't call her undersized either, but she is a good blocker. has a good serve too. ugh the more I type the sadder I get.

I thought I read in one of your posts that you said Kelsey wasn’t an OH, if you didn’t, my apologies for crediting that to you. I get all of what you’re saying, with the exception of SWP being the hitting replacement for MBH, SWP is the hitting replacement in your opinion. To this point I’ve never seen in any match of significance where they played SWP ahead of a Kelsey, Bartsch or hill for that matter. I see no scenario where they would have played SWP over Kelsey even if as you say she’s better OOS attacker. Again ,I get all of your points, and while you ask “when has the pairing of Larson/Robo been good enough at the highest level? I would counter with when has the pairing of SWP and Larson ever happened in a match of significance or ever? I see the same problems as other people, but the assumption SWP being the answer or would perform better, that’s an enormous assumption. Could SWP do better? I guess, but again, with a limited roster you can create a roster for every and all scenarios. Robinson has shown far more than SWP has shown she can play at the pin in high level matches wearing red, white and Blue. From what I’ve seen of Bartsch, Robinson and SWP in USA matches I’m nowhere near convinced SWP gives us a better chance to win. This of course is my opinion, and my point is people are presenting SWP would as a fact. I got time. Let's dissect this. "To this point I’ve never seen in any match of significance where they played SWP ahead of a Kelsey, Bartsch or hill for that matter." You don't watch the Turkish League. That's why. Or probably any professional volleyball for that matter. "I see no scenario where they would have played SWP over Kelsey even if as you say she’s better OOS attacker" Against Turkey?. Against Russia?. MBH is hitting under .170 (or whatever), Kelsey is under .100.... They need options. "while you ask “when has the pairing of Larson/Robo been good enough at the highest level? I would counter with when has the pairing of SWP and Larson ever happened in a match of significance or ever" Does it matter? We know Larson/Kelsey doesn't work... They need to try something new... Worse case.. its as bad as Kelsey/Larson. "Robinson has shown far more than SWP has shown she can play at the pin in high level matches wearing red, white and Blue." When? Not this olympic games. Not in the Rio games. Not in the world cup. Larson isn't getting benched. What match has Kelsey played at a high level with Larson (in an important match) "I’m nowhere near convinced SWP gives us a better chance to win." Well, you're entitled to your wrong opinion. Why are we wasting a roster spot on a serving specialist when we have a top 5 scorer in a top 2 league chilling in Hawai'i. You dont see any value in having that player here? I am not arguing that SWP should be on the roster over Kelsey. I'm arguing she should be on the roster over a serving specialist. I dont see how anyone can watch the USA's pool play matches and think any OH (minus Larson) was good or near good enough to compete for a gold (at that level). SWP brings offense, she brings something different. USA needs a spark, especially without Thompson on court. SWP is that person when MBH doesn't have it. Kelsey isn't scoring OOS attacks. Larson at this stage, isn't either. What is the back up plan? They don't have one.

Arguing about KP or SWP is cool but Mac May is the future of the NT at OH.
If you don't know that yet, you will.

sorry if this question is a repeat. since JP & JT are both injured, will they call the alternates to participate in the games? If so, i'm assuming carlini would be called. but who would be JT's replacement? (Plummer or SWP)? I'm thinking the logistics would be difficult because would the incoming athletes have to quarantine or something upon arrival in japan? No.. Alternates would have had to have joined before the first match. Once matches start what you have is what you have. Wow. I didn’t know that. So if Poulter is out and Hancock gets hurt, what does the US do? Injuries are tough. Seems like alternates should be allowed in those circumstances.
