I'm going to be doing a bunch of EuroVolley previews on the CEV YouTube channel for individual teams and all four pools as the tournament gets closer - already have done several for the women's tournament. EuroVolley is awesome. By far the best continental championship, not that that's a high standard, but the teams really care about winning it and the drama is pretty electric every year.
It's also viewable in the States for the first time ever this year - EuroVolley.tv has pretty cheap deals to watch the entire tournament, and it's not geoblocked in the US. You also get all of CEV Champions League club matches on there.

Any surprises for this year? Any team we should be looking out for?

Pool B looks pretty rough. The rest of the pools look like they have a top two and then the rest.

If I'm not mistaken the top two teams from this will qualify for the 2022 World Championships. The rest of the World Championship teams will be determined by the FIVB rankings. Obviously adds more reason for teams to do well

I think if they get into the top 2, the next teams will be qualified. I'm excited to watch this tournament as we'll probably see teams already inserting a few new players (outside Olympic roster) to try this new quad.

We'll get our first glimpse at the future of the Italian men's team this tournament - Juantorena is retired from the NT officially, but also you can expect no Zaytsev, Kovar, or Piano for this particular tournament. Time to see if Alessandro Michieletto can continue to produce with inferior pin talent around him now.

It's time for Giannelli to take the leadership role. Was he the captain in their previous outings?

It's time for Giannelli to take the leadership role. Was he the captain in their previous outings? According to the reports online, Zaytsev was the designated captain at the Olympics. In 2019, I think Gianelli was captain for VNL, but Zaytsev was the captain for EuroVolley. 2019 World Cup website shows that Piano was the captain during that tournament.
