18 convened by Bernardinho: Lifters: Benjamin Toniutti, Antoine Brizard and Kellian Motta Paes Opposites: Jean Patry, Théo Faure and Ibrahim Lawani Pointers: Earvin Ngapeth, Trevor Clevenot, Yacine Louati, Luka Basic and François Rebeyrol Central :Barthélémy Chinenyeze, Nicolas Le Goff, Daryl Bultor, Henry Méderic and Mousse Gueye Liberos: Jenia Grebennikov and Benjamin Diez They drop Boyer? Maybe because he is the same age as Patry and Patry is their go to Opposite now. Lawani and Faure will be PAtry's successor.

I cant think of any better reason than the one posted by archiepelago. On their OG roster, Clevenot's the youngest OH at 27... They'll need younger OH.. Rossard's 28 and Yacine's 29

Rossard's 28 and Yacine's 29 I would have preferred Rossard over Louati actually. If we are basing on what they can do. And Rossard is younger. But I guess his stint in the olympics raise Louati's stocks.

Rosters are starting to become official before the tournament starts Wednesday - Russia has neither of their Olympic opposites, Mikhaylov is taking a break this tournament and Poletaev is hurt

Mandiraci and Lagumdzija (sp?) are really solid, young players for Turkey. Ugh where is this young gun talent in the USA lol. Looks like Kliuka is playing right side for Russia

Wow, Turkey with an impressive 3-1 win over Russia. Russia was playing a strong lineup too. Turkey doesn't really run a super speedy offense but dang they've got some serious firepower.

I liked Russia moving Kliuka to opposite in the absence of Mikhaylov and Poletaev, but Podlesnykh did not play well on the outside in his place. Lagumdzija for Turkey is a top-10 opposite in the world in my strong opinion. I had a feeling this upset was possible, I just didn't have the guts to pick it in the YouTube previews I did!
