I mean it can be inferred by her comments in that article…and to drive this home, this is simply my opinion, you’re not going to change it so let’s just agree to disagree and move on. I’ve already said I’m cheering for her to join the team in Paris because she’s a very talented setter, so let’s not get all over protective. I mean your opinion can still be stupid. That’s the issue. Commenting on something you have zero first hand knowledge about doesn’t really ring as an intelligent method of drawing a conclusion. But yes definitely still your opinion that you are entitled to have. haha I love how triggering this is…because the inverse can be said for all of your points too. How do you know she was in contact? Have her actions showed that she was? This article was so compelling that it solidifies she was in constant contact to show support? I wrote a very long winded post but for now I’ll just say Good for her, kick ass and I fully believe she is capable of making the roster in Paris. I’ll be rooting for her and I hope she makes it. I have seldom witnessed a setter influence a match in the way I have with Carlini. She elevates her teammates to greater heights as well as herself.
We are so lucky to have healthy competition at the position and it’s good to know that whomever has the roster spot going forward our girls are in good “hands” so to speak.

If Lauren is in the mix for Paris I'll cheer for her.
If she makes the team I'll cheer for her.
If she is not chosen I'll cheer for her.
If she elect not to continue with the National team I'll cheer for her.
And so on and so on.
Lauren has worn that USA on her jersey and played hard every time and succeeded at the highest level in a really really difficult sport.
Bravo and best of luck in the future.

It makes total sense to me that they would offer a choice of how to give news and total sense why someone would choose email.
Yep. In this sort of roster cut, it's not a calm, rational conversation where the player who doesn't make the team asks for 3 items of feedback that they can work on for the next training session. Most players want to process the joy or the sadness by themselves or with family.
There's also a logistical reality. 23-person roster. How long do you block off per meeting. 15 minutes? That's almost a 6-hour block of time, during which, by process of elimination, people are figuring it out anyway. And if I get cut, I get to walk out into the hallway in some combination of sadness and rage right out in front of the next person and all of the other randos coming in and out of the ASC.
Notifying people via email also doesn't preclude meeting in person. But it allows everybody to get the information they want as fast as possible on their home court, and then if there are conversations that want to happen in person, they still can.

How can I have an agenda against LC when i’ve publicly praised her abilities and said that I hope she makes the Paris roster? Just because I’ve gone against the grain of LC fanatics, doesn’t mean I’m out to get her. To me that shows a persons own insecurities in their own self worth and that’s how the they try and justify themselves. You want to talk about unhappy people. Happy people have no need to call others or their opinions stupid. They just ignore it because they don’t care. And before I get attacked which I’m sure is coming , yes I’ve done it to and I wasnt very happy when I was doing these things. The only reason to put someone down is to try and justify your own self worth. |
