Not watching live - but UNLV is playing LIU right now and Mariena Hayden is not listed on the stats. Injured?

Rebels take first set 25-21 with an ace from Fafard. Hayden's not dressed out so probably not playing today. Didn't play against NAU either. Can't tell if she's injured or just resting up for the season. Passing's been horrible, Capllonch's been the bulk of the offense, with Serbian transfer Tasic playing oh2. Middles have been mostly uninvolved.

Why is a 6'4" OH setting the Boise State team? Where is Danielle Boss? Or Ashley Hayden the backup?

CSU/South Dakota canceled tonight due to COVID issues within the SD roster This sucks for CSU -- since a potential win over a good SD team (or even just playing them) could have been nice for their RPI.

Does anyone have any info on what is going on with Mariena Hayden? UNLV isn't going to stand a chance against BYU if she's not playing.

UNM starts the season 3-0. Beating Fordham, Cal St Fullerton, and UC Riverside, each in 3 sets.

Wasn't able to watch anything live this weekend (I was away at a wedding), but here are some thoughts on teams that I was able to watch via replays:
Boise State: I honestly don't have too much to say about Boise. Eeking out a 2-1 weekend without your starting MB, libero, and both setters (with a 6'4" OH playing setter) is a bit surprising, but it did come to bite them in the butt against Montana State. Hopefully, we can see the "real" Boise State here in the next couple of weeks before conference play
Wyoming: 2-0 against Siena and 0-2 against St. Mary's this weekend. So far it seems passing is a bit of an issue with Wyoming - St. Mary's really targeted KC McMahon and it got them in all sorts of trouble. Looks like Wyoming played the majority of the weekend in a 6-2, and I wonder how long that will last, as they cannot have an extra DS on the floor to help with their passing. They'll have a bit of an easier weekend in South Carolina for some tune-ups, but then have some very tough tournaments coming up before conference play.
Colorado State: Ehh, tough to gauge CSU right now. Their first match against South Dakota was canceled, so their first match was against Northwestern who already had a match under their belt. I think CSU had a bit of first-game jitters, but CSU really struggled staying in system (largely due to NU's serving and OHs). Stanford and Colombo were the bright spots offensively, but the other three hitters were either at or just above 0.000 hitting%. Largely a new team playing together, so it might take some time for them to gel.
Utah State: I actually think Utah State didn't look too bad. They did lose in five to Weber State, but Weber is favored to win their conference. I thought USU played scrappy and their OHs did a good job offensively.

Once UNLV gets Hayden back I think they are going to be really good. Their right side attack is definitely more powerful and athletic than last years lineup. Plus I think that second OH position will be stronger with the addition of Tasic.

I think a lot of UNLV's success (besides having Hayden) in the Spring has been their passing and defense, which Capllonch was at excellent at. Didn't get to watch their matches at BYU, but I'll definitely tune in this weekend against Purdue/Washington State

Didn't get to watch their matches at BYU, but I'll definitely tune in this weekend against Purdue/Washington State Capllonch's passing is definitely better but Tasic isn't a terrible passer from what I've seen. Having Capllonch would definitely bring more passing, but less offense, and Tasic is vice versa. I'm almost wondering what Capllonch at libero would look like? It probably won't happen but I agree that she is definitely the heart of the defense and passing for UNLV so I'm interested to see what happens when Hayden returns.
