Fiveone podcast had some commentary on the Taylor Sander situation if y’all wanna listen ”Hopefully he moves his family out to Europe” Oh god… that seems like the worst possible way to rectify that situation.

I like Dan a lot, but his commentary on that was incredibly off.

Sander seems like a true family man who misses his water sports on the lakes, rivers and oceans and spending time with his ENTIRE family. It really isn't a surprise. He's got his 2nd on the way and wants to have them around his fam.
Fact of the matter is he played AAUs in beach WITH Taylor Crabb and both are dynamic players. During COVID he and Brenden Sander were practicing against Jake/Taylor in HB. In fact, one of the commentators said Jake and Taylor share a fence in HB as neighbors.
Not a surprising move. The Five-One dude is way off.

While I understand the idea of wanting to be home with your family and raising your kids, etc... It really seems like beach is actually more travel than club. Also, expenditure wise, seems like the pay-to-play model of beach is especially difficult.
I'd think moving your family to Europe or Poland would be the wiser move. You get stability. Raising young kids in foreign environment isn't really a bad thing either.
That also said, it takes a few years to really re-adapt to the beach game from indoor, and only if you have the right partner. Otherwise, it could take longer.
I think it's unrealistic to think Paris 2024 unless there's a Dalhausser-like available.

Maybe you know more than Taylor Sander does about what is best for his own family and his own well being and maybe you know more than he does about what it is like to play overseas for year after year with the physical and mental toll and maybe you know more than he does about what goes into being a professional beach athlete. Or maybe you don't.

Or maybe you don't. I'm just making an observation that with beach, you realistically travel more than a club player. You're in a new country from week to week, esp if you're trying to make the Olympics. Thus, it seems like you're trading one form of overseas travel for another

If he is financially set for his standards at this point in time, wants more family time will living in a beautiful place like HB, and still filling that need for a competitive drive who cares? Plus winning tourneys, gaining sponsorships, and going for another Olympic medal in a way less stressful environment seems pretty sweet.
