UCF was down 21-0 to Boise State but now leads 30-24 and with possession in the 4th. They need to save face for the AAC. Tulsa lost to UC Davis, ECU lost to Appalachian (not too shameful) and South Florida got disgraced by NC State. I don't think I realized that UC Davis even had a football team. I guess they're FCS, so that explains why I was unaware of them.

Future Big 12 member UCF (if reports are to be believed) pulled out the win over Boise State 36-31 in part due to a horrendous pick by Boise State's QB.

The defensive player hits his shoulder just before its released. I'm not sure that's on the QB. I think that's just great defensive hustle.

Well, he was also well past the line of scrimmage when he made the throw, so even if he didn't throw a pick, it would still have been a penalty. My problem was much more with the decision making than with the throw itself. Past the line, there's no reason to throw at all, as only bad things can happen.

That was pretty good. The other announcer said something like, "I went to Georgia Tech, and I didn't do a lot of calculus either."

I was a little surprised to see that North Carolina was in the preseason top 10. That didn't last long, as they promptly lost to Virginia Tech 17-10.

Oklahoma only beat Tulane by 5 points? They probably took their foot off the gas only scoring 3 points in the second half, but it's freaking Tulane. They aren't top tier AAC.

Congrats to FCS Montana for defeating a ranked FBS school (the tweet is a little inaccurate, as there are a few more such wins) 13-7 over Washington.

There have been some pretty big upsets today. Well, Vandy losing maybe isn't, but they got smoked by ETSU. Also, somehow, Scott Frost looks even worse.

I went to school at Washington but will not support them when they schedule a team like Montana. You know the cliche right, beat up on players your own size. I think UW got what it deserved. I might be the only alum saying this but I stand by it. I shouldnt root against the players because of the decisions made by athletic directors, but one of the reasons I prefer pro sports now is that there is way too much nonsense scheduling in college. Doesn't matter the sport.

Doesn't matter the sport. This isn't nonsense scheduling. The top FCS teams are just as good (if not better) than many G5 teams. Yeah, most of the time the FBS team will end up winning (FBS teams get 85 scholarships while FCS teams get 63 scholarships, but they are allowed to spread that amount out via partial scholarships to up to 85 total scholarship players), but it is still a good experience for the FCS players (most of them love the opportunity to play in the bigger stadiums, as well as the chance to pull off an upset) and these games provide quite a bit of money for the FCS programs (who unlike P5 programs, don't get ridiculous amounts of TV money, and these games usually provide $400K or more to the visiting team, or so I've heard)

Well now. That shakes things up a bit.
