4. Hallgren/Villapando vs. T.Van Winkle/Brennan 16-21, 30-28, 17-15
I like how you put that score in bold. Yes, that's a good omen and a minor upset imo.

Julia Scoles: "Something that helps my get through the most grueling of workouts (aka the beep test) is my faith... When I compare the shame and suffering of what Christ willing endured on the cross to my momentary physical suffering, the load instantly feels lighter." http://instagr.am/p/CWqfKMQrU0k

Delaynie Maple: "U19 World Champions!! Not really sure how to put this into words but here’s me giving it my best shot! There’s something different about wearing those three letters across your chest and I couldn’t be more proud of to have worn them next to Megan Kraft. You’re the definition of baller and i love every second I get to play next to you. I cant thank this USA national team fam enough. Met some lifelong friends on this trip and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But did I choose the right sport. I have to pinch myself sometimes that I play something that takes me to such beautiful places like this. Grateful is simply an understatement. Now who’s ready for this 30+ hour travel day back home!!" http://instagram.com/p/CXXldB3LkzT

Adding more congratulations to Megan Kraft and Delaynie Maple for their dominant run through the U19 World Championships. The Russians did not look at all impressive in the gold medal match. The defender Salmanova clearly got mentally distressed at multiple times throughout the match and could barely get off the sand. Though maybe I’m just misreading her exhaustion. Ukrainians beat Hodel/Reilly in two sets for third place so I’m confused as to just how good the other teams are. Will need to watch the semi-finals between the Americans to see how much Hodel/Reilly have slumped since the summer. Regardless, not withstanding the absences of Audrey Nourse and Caroline Schafer, the USC lineup for Spring 2022 can be better than last year’s. Since there’s always a comparison against UCLA, I think the Bruins will have more questions than the Trojans. I’m not sure what’s up with Lexy Denaburg’s absence. Anyone know? Losing Simo, Quade, and Sparks will mean more than losing Hallgren and Dennis. Haley and Joy brought a ton of experience, but this year all the projected Trojan starters have a wealth of experience.
