This IG post baffles me a bit as I count 7 Trojans remaining in the Winners Bracket, 3 still in the Contenders Bracket and 2 that have lost in the Contenders. That adds up to 12. Winners: Urango, Gessner, Cannon, Kraft, Scoles, Cheng, Hughes Contenders: Pater. Ross, Harward Eliminated: Coackley, Shields Ok, looking at the photos, the social media staffer forgot Madison Shields. Congrats, Trojans! Doing great! Fight on! đŞâď¸đ http://instagram.com/p/C-vO-eAvyLv

Anyone want to make a line up prediction? Iâd guess we are 6-8 weeks from fall season and just started to think about it again.

The real question is can USC win the title this year. Some other teams seem to be much stronger this year, at least on paper...

The real question is can USC win the title this year. Some other teams seem to be much stronger this year, at least on paper... đ Annual question from moimoiâŚ. As I said last year, yes, for sure USC can win this year. Am I as confident as last year? No. Maybe Iâll be more confident after seeing the fall tourney at Manhattan Beach. TCU is loaded for sure and should be considered the favorites. The Horned Frogs and UCLA were the favorites for the 2023 season too, but couldnât fulfill their promise. Cal Poly, UCLA this year⌠letâs see how they step up.

I think the part you don't understand is the recruits USC and I'll include UCLA in this are generally speaking a good amount above other teams. Not saying other schools don't get good players and not saying all UC/UCLA players are great but a 6's pair player at SC or UCLA are a 2's at most of the schools you listed back in May. Do I think SC lost talent..Yes lots. Do I think they should be preseason #1..No. Do I think they will fall out of the top 5? Not a chance in heck.

SC also has the top coaching staff in the country. I agree 100% re: top coaching staff Dain & Gus have found a way every year for the past years so you can't count them out. Yes, they did lose some talent, but I think the ladies of Troy will step up to the occasion. This year will be exciting for the NCAA, TCU is coming in with a lot of steam as well as Poly. Next year we'll see roster limits and hopefully schools finally able to give scholarship money. That should be helpful for USC.

Courts have to approve the deal still and itâs 50/50 and as of now it doesnât address some of SCOTUS concerns laid out originally. And most schools donât have the money to fully fund 18. My gut says they wonât have 18 but agree they will have more money. The portal activity will be big IMHO as some schools will have donors fill the gap. SC is very poor on the donor/NIL front. They canât even see what a good NIL program looks like they are so far back. House of Victory was what, over a year behind most schools launch?

Coakley/Pater having an impressive deep run through the Hermosa contenderâs bracket. After losing first round to Hamlett/Khmil, Coakley/Pater have beaten Hooker/Reffel, Smith/Spieler, and Flint/Prihti. Lasting longer than Hamlett/Khmil. Will be tough to beat Rodriguez/Urango though.

Got to watch the stream of the Coakley/Pater win over Rodriguez/Urango. Wow! For two players just starting their sophomore and freshman years to beat a US Top 5 team is crazy!
Coakleyâs got all the tools. Great serve, impeccable block timing, low error %.
Pater also really impressed, looking better than earlier this year during the collegiate season. Very accurate today.

I am coming around to the idea of Coakley and Pater playing at the 1s next season. Would be a very young team but they seem to have the highest ceiling. I also think White will pair better with Henson (presumably at the 2s). That would leave Goellner, Gessner, Thomas and Walker as highly likely other starters (Goellner and Thomas seem like locks). Not sure about the other 2 (Karl, Truslow, Kok, Hong seem most likely). I bat roughly 0% when trying to predict these things, however.

Thatâs why I wait until after fall season before I speculate. And then the pairs get chopped up during the season anyways. Coakley/Pater are still a bit inconsistent for now. Past history suggests that Coakley will be paired with a more veteran player though Pater could have the leadership ability to step up. More Hermosa thoughts: Of the 8 remaining pairs, 4 are double Trojans: Coakley/Pater, Cheng/Hughes, Cannon/Kraft, Graudina/Scoles. Add in April and more than half of the remaining players are Trojans âď¸. Unfortunately all the double Trojan pairs play each other. Too many AVP events this year with tons of Trojans getting 2nd, 3rd, 5th. Someone has to break through with no TKN or MHB.
