Nebraska, Purdue, Kentucky and Florida with losses this week, lots of potential movement for tomorrow’s poll. I think Minnesota cracks the top 10

I think Florida and Nebraska are most likely to drop because they lost to much lower ranked teams. But the teams they lost to were ranked so I don't expect them to leave the top 10. Purdue lost to Louisville, which was also in the VT top 10, and Kentucky lost to UW at number 2.
Not sure who Minnesota displaces since they beat teams immediately around them.

I think Utah makes the biggest gain in the polls. In addition - Louisville made a huge gain in my ballot, but VT already had them at #10.
How one views Pittsburgh and Louisville impacts how one views the BYU and Purdue losses.
Really hard to differentiate Baylor, Florida, and Minnesota - all with 3 losses.

Odin Is there any way we could have this very useful thread pinned? Ask VT Five-0 and Odin. I agree this thread should be pinned, but the problem is having too many pinned threads. Space is an issue recleague did something similar for Volleytalk for some seasons and it was pinned.

Stanford was ranked lower than MN in the AVCA poll, but I can still see MN getting a "Stanford bump" - basically credit for winning against a marquee program even if they're not ranked super highly. MN had a great weekend but as an earlier poster said, the Ducks and Cardinal were ranked right around MN. I think MN jumps to 11 or 10 in the AVCA. VT should be interesting since the voters seem to put in more collective effort in their rankings.

Not sure any reasonable person would knock UT out of their 7-0 #1 perch after winning 3 matches this weekend....BUT...coming within a point of being taken to 5 sets by the Notre Dame non-fighting Irish (at Gregory, no less)should give pause to any thinking Horn fan.

Yeah, it's either Texas not playing well at all or Notre Dame waking up. Either way it wasn't a good look. In fairness, the wins in the 1st and 3rd set at 16 and 17 were convincing. The first set in particular Texas played outstanding. But they let Notre Dame get a nice streak going in that 2nd set for their win (finished out 10-2). Notre Dame had excellent opportunities to make it a 5 set match but just couldn't execute. I want to see how Arizona and Notre Dame do in their conference before getting too worked up. And by that time Texas will have some road tests in conference against KU and Iowa State. This year the Big 12 isn't doing any home and away matches. Both matches against each team will be played in one setting. So Texas gets KU, Iowa State, Baylor and Texas Tech all on the road for consecutive nights, while hosting West Virginia, TCU, OU, and Kansas State. Since KU and Iowa State are two of the better teams in the league (and Baylor is a top ten type team) there will be plenty of tests to come for the Longhorns. But there's no doubt there are glaring opportunities for improvement.

Notre Dame had a much improved weekend compared to the first 2 weeks. They beat Arizona and won 49.3% of the combined points in their 2 matches (Arizona/Texas). This is the kind of result I was expecting at the start the season, not after the poor play the first two weeks. The win against Arizona makes me wonder about the Texas match. Texas did win 53.8% of the points against Notre Dame, so it wasn't as close as it may have appeared. And I am not so sure whether Notre Dame is ~ #30 team or #100 team? Doesn't get easier for Notre Dame this week with Ohio State 2X. I will be interested to see how many sets they can take from OSU.
