Did Benesh maybe miss the registration opportunity for Open and would have been on the wait-listed, after already deciding he was going for the activities?

Is the Zaun playing with Vaughn related to Eric? I know Vaughn played with Eric a few times so I am guessing maybe a brother? Brian is Eric's brother as stated earlier. He is an absolute riot. Look for him and Chris to be the life of the tournament both on and off the floor.

Maybe once Albrecht gets a better partner. Knight is the anchor on that team. jk good luck out there Thank you. I’m not Kevin Knight btw, clearing that up just in case haha. He did manage to knock off Adam and Trevor last year at this event. Woops, Im no sure why I thought you were, but I had thought that for a while

Jade/Schermerhorn beat Lydia Smith and Bree Scarborough in the women’s final. Not sure who was in the semis.

stephenasinjin - how did you do? Fun time? The AVPAmerica link to the results shows nothing - thanks! Took 7th. Knocked off Lucena/Keller (nothing particularly magical about that), lost to Groselle/VDM in the winners round of 8, and after another win in contenders, lost a tough 3 setter to Knight/Albrecht to get 7th.

Clarifying a couple common questions for everyone,
Vaughan/Zaun: Zaun is a riot, but nowhere near the player his brother is. They were a fun team.
Good draws: particularly myself at the 13 seed and the teams at 15/18 had great draws. Anyone familiar with how 24 team double elim brackets work or just double elim brackets knows that getting to the winners round of 8 is huge compared to losing in the round of 16 so playing a “top seed” that is a world class player paired with a player who is not that great is a favorable draw (Lucena/Keller were the 4, compared with Groselle/VDM at the 5, and Dache/Samuels at the 6). Heath/Trevor Crabb only became a good draw later in the day as Heath tired out and started drinking more lol.
Bad draw: Knight/Albrecht had a particularly brutal draw, drawing the eventual winners Dache/Samuels in the round of 16 at 6 vs 11. Lost in 3, Dropped down to the losers in the 17th place game as a result, had a 13th place match that was far from a cakewalk compared to the others, then beat Kwekel/Miller in the 9th place match, beat me for 7th, and then lost in 3 to Greiner/Connors, bringing them to a total of 7 matches on the day. Also Kwekel/Miller drawing Roberts/Bourne in the round of 8, only to draw Knight/Albrecht in the 9th place game was rough.

Sooooo, how do I market my tournament to get these players to come? make it a low-level AVP America event, emphasize that drinking and not caring how you finish is highly encouraged? Make it mandatory that a pro has to play with a buddy that might be a scrub? Here I am trying to get some decent prize money, AVP Next points, build a beautiful venue. I'm a failure

Not building a venue in that sense. I just meant building a good tournament venue on the beach, for my specific events.
