Now here is a very interesting situation. An AAU "Super Regional" scheduled at the same time in the same venue as a KRVA USAV event in Harrisburg PA. What a predicament. Are they selling Popcorn and setting up a wrestling ring too? www.advancedeventsystems.com/events

Are they selling Popcorn and setting up a wrestling ring too? www.advancedeventsystems.com/eventsNot sure what you mean. AAU feels like they have an opportunity. So why not take it? Not sure it is a USAV event either. From what I am seeing it is the exact same facility, exact same name. My guess is that the people who run that original USAV event are now running it as an AAU event. USAV does not host events besides Nationals. They allocate bids through events and regions. People who have USAV next to their event just means teams are required to have a USAV membership most of the time.

KRVA is an USAV region holding it's "Rust Bucket" tournament in the same place at the same time. Unless the KRVA has jumped ship to join AAU there are competing organizations running competing tournaments in the same venue at the same time--pretty obvious by the way.

Yorktowne is singed up for the AAU event and they tend to set the tone for our region

New twist to this mystery.
Originally KRVA was calling their tournaments "Rust Bucket", then AAU lists theirs as "Rust Bucket".
Now the KRVA name has been changed to "Boys Opener".
Does anyone have any insight?

The whole AAU vs USAV thing is getting really interesting...
A lot of the tournaments on the big stage are poorly run. I understand there needs to be love for everybody but Can-Am and BANE were/are two horrendous tournaments that are run horribly but somehow they remain qualifiers every year.
I've heard same thing applies to Florida Fest but less complaints because at least it is in Florida and not the PEnnsylvania/NY tundra.

Better than Can AM and way better than BANE. Do we know if MVP Academy is hopping in the AAU wagon?
