Now that Kim Hill has announced her retirement from the NT and also an end to her pro club career, looking back at her volleyball journey overall, what are her most memorable matches for you? She kind of came out of nowhere to land a roster spot on the USWNT (well maybe not entirely out of nowhere, she did earned AVCA All-American first team honors in both indoor and beach at Pepperdine). People sat up and paid attention to her due to a spectacular performance at the 2014 World Championships, helping US picked up their their first championships at one of the international volleyball majors and earning a MVP trophy along the way too. In recent years, she seems to be reduced to being only a serving sub on the NT, but her pro career remains stellar, winning the CEV Champions League with both Vakifbank and Imoco.
So what are her most memorable matches for you? And what are her future plans post-retirement?

She’s been my favorite player to watch since probably that 2014 year! She will be missed!

I know Larson still plans to be involved with volleyball in some capacity, not sure about Hill though. Kim is young still. Hope to see her at Athletes Unlimited at the very least. I think there's still time for her to become an elite beach player if she decided to go that route as well.

She's kept coy about her future plans it seems. Maybe she isn't entirely sure what her next step is. Or maybe she doesn't want to disclose it just yet. We'll see.

pepperdine-graphic.com/going-from-a-wave-to-an-olympic-gold-medalist/Hill retired from volleyball following her gold medal win and said she isn’t sure what she is going to do with her time yet, but is going to spend at least a year relaxing and traveling. She said that what she took away from volleyball the most was her relationships, above even the sport itself. “I am not going to miss the volleyball at all, to be honest, but I’m gonna miss my teammates,” Hill said. “I already have FOMO [fear of missing out], they’re like your best friends and it’s something you don’t really get in normal life — that amount of closeness and bonding that you go through with the team.”
