Fitting way to end it. Get an overpass, don't get a good swing, easy transition for Utah.
Utes were running downball drills all day. It'd be one thing if Drews just went out of her mind, but that's not it today..
So disappointing.

I am a little amused that Beth, from her location, seems convinced she had a better angle on that over-the-net call than did the ref who is up on the tower and right in line with the net. Took me a minute to realize which Beth you were talking about.

And this is what Oregon looks like on a day when both setters are off. It's depressing. Usually one of them elevates when the other is bad. Not today. Elise seemed to have elevate overall a bit, but these past 3 matches have just been bad.

Oregon needs a better setter and runs 5-1 Oregon doesn't have the OHs or setter to run a 5-1. But you're a UW fan, so that might be why you want to see it!

They need both RSs to spread the block.

Regardless of issues with some 2-hitter rotations, I count 6 starting setters in the PAC who would probably be running a 5-1 for the Ducks if they were transplanted onto this roster. Maybe some liberal use of dub sub when we did get stuck, but mostly a 5-1. And there are a couple who aren't starting who might get a long look.

Disappointing performance by the Ducks. Bad setting. Nuneviller didn't perform well. Only hit .093 percentage. Hansen also was off. This was their first bad match of the season. Very unusual for them to be outdug, which they were. 9 service errors. Too much. Credit to Utah, who were steadier and turned defense into offense much more effectively. Drews with 19 kills.

You think there are backup setters in the Pac that could start for Oregon? Just curious who? I still think Oregon is the best team in the Pac-12. Great ball control, defense and 6 weapons who can all put a ball down. I agree Robinson is not living up to her hype. Do you think it was an over hype issue or is it something wrong in the Oregon program. They always seem to struggle with the setter position, under Ulmar, outside of Raskie’s senior year.

I thought some people actually wanted to see this team run a 5-1 where Nuneviller has to carry the offense in 2 hitter rotations and teams are hitting over the 5'9 setter in trans.

It's been since Lauren Plum graduated. It's really only 4 setters recruited in almost a decade. First in 2014 was heavily hyped showed promise for half a season, but ended up just never get it done. Second recruited in 2015 was underwhelming for 3 years in a 6-2 behind the former, became an All-American and a star as a senior in a 5-1. Should have pulled the trigger on that 3 years earlier. Third recruited in 2018 was supposed to be great, just hasn't lived up to the hype. Fourth recruited in 2019 was not hyped, and I don't think we were really ever expecting to play as we were anticipating 2018 setter to be running a 5-1 these years. She showed a lot of improvement, was looking solid earlier this season. Has had a rough past 8 days or so.
