Sources say she got sick. Sick of that bad camera angle and no sound! (Oh wait... that was me.) Hoping it's nothing bad. Haha!!! They had the B team on the stream for sure.

They are out hitting Iowa .333 to .086. I’m sure it’s just for experience. But why take out M. Hornung? She started at libero and was solid. Why not sit Schermerhorn? It's just an interesting defensive change to me. There’s this thing in sports. When you’re playing a 2-13 team and destroying them and have what looks like 30 kids on your bench, you start to get kids playing time.

When you’re playing a 2-13 team and destroying them and have what looks like 30 kids on your bench, you start to get kids playing time. Oh, you think you're being funny? Cool. Let me help you out: Schermerhorn is a 4-year player who has seen the court in every match as a DS for Purdue playing at least 2 to 3 rotations. She doesn't need playing time. Jena Otec was Defensive Player of the Year last year as Purdue's libero. The first in program history. Also the first DS/libero to be an All-American. She's switched on and off at libero with Marissa Hornung this year so Marissa could get playing time at libero. She doesn't need playing time. Ali Hornung is the only player who could use the playing time and she came in as a 2-rotation right back DS. I watch every Purdue match. I know Shondell gets his players on the court when they're destroying another team. He's always rotating players in and building them for the future. He doesn't switch out a libero who's passing, defending, and playing well, even if his team is up significantly on another team. If you'd read my original post, you'd know I ask specifically why Otec, a 5-year starter who doesn't need extra minutes, came in at libero in the 3rd set after Hornung had been playing well. Also why not sit Schermerhorn if you want more bench players to get passing reps since she's already gotten plenty over the years. And why Marissa Hornung wasn't even on the court anymore. If you'd read the follow up posts, you'd see Hornung got sick and that's why all the changes happened. Not to get the other players extra minutes.
