Amy is an Alabama alum, so that would make some sense.

Amy is an Alabama alum, so that would make some sense. and she coached two years at UAB and one at South Carolina - so she’d be familiar with recruiting in the southeast

Not that they could get her, but Malia Shoji should be at the top of their list.

People seem to be looking at Alabama the way the volleyball world looks at Alabama. Try looking at them the way Alabama sees Alabama. If Auburn hired USC’s head coach last year it’s a tough sell to Alumni to hire USC’s assistant coach this year, or an assistant from another PAC 10 school. Not that Bama alumni care about volleyball, but they do care about beating Auburn.
Alabama can outspend almost everybody but the big 10, and this is the last program to fix, so I’d look at bigger program head coaches, names more like DBK, Collier and Fisher from the ACC, Volpe, Darcy, and maybe even Keegan Cook. They tried a coach stepping up in weight class and it didn’t work. I really don’t think you see them looking for a bargain again.

Not saying your hypothesis is completely off, but look at the history of hires in volleyball. Plus, they need to save therefor pennies to pay for Nick Sabans windfall raise due to Lincoln Riley's new contract at USC.

Very small, excellent nursing school. They have found a way so that, unlike many schools, nursing requirements will not impede athletic involvement and athletics does not impede nursing requirements. Departing coach arrived after being an assistant at Youngstown St. Youngstown is again looking for an assistant. Is he possibly going back?

Not to mention, these coaches would have to want to leave their jobs to go to Bama....
