Idk if I'm a fan... especially with how unreliable the system is Part of it I heard was to discourage coaches from wasting one as a timeout. I think the other thing Cook has said is coaches like this because the coach is not penalized if the challenging team is correct. They get the challenge back.

But I was speaking to the 2 challenges per MATCH to utilize (infinite if correct) as opposed to 2 challenges per SET (the standard international format)

I get that offensive and blocking *consistency* are what you need to start, but Whit has my favorite arm on the team. So fun to watch her contact the ball. Her upside is huge, sheβs going to be special.

IMO lots of positive team execution & play not drawn down to Indiana's level.

A solid win against an inferior opponent. The Huskers, having multiple young pieces to try and fit in, have benefitted from a relatively easy B1G schedule which has allowed this team to gain some momentum.
Disappointed that Batenhorst didn't get more attempts but I thought she rebounded well after a subpar performance at Rutgers. Krause is a stud and it's nice to have some consistent production from the right. The littles had another solid night even though Akana's serve was a bit off.
Like many have commented previously, I always enjoy seeing Lauenstein play albeit in limited action. She is so athletic and her arm is so quick. Cook mentioned on his radio show that she is still inconsistent. Some days she is All-World then the next she's All-Waverly. I wish she could get more playing time, I just don't see how with this current line-up.
I had Indiana pegged in the 12-14 range in the B1G but they were worse than I expected. I don't know how they swept Sparty. The Aird era seems to be regressing. Does anybody know why Tommi Stockham transferred to Cal Poly? The Hoosiers built Aird a new volleyball facility a few years ago but he seems to have squandered whatever good will he had coming from Maryland. I can't believe he has much margin for error before they pull the pin on him, but that's just my observation from afar. Indiana fan would know better than me.

They did not ask coach about Lauenstein subbing in for Hames with Akana becoming the setter. If I remember correctly they ran that for a bit in sets 2 & 3. In one sequence Akana got a dig or a pass, I forget which, and Roddy executed a behind the back set to the left pin. Fun to watch.

For me, it is Kayla's arm, and I must be addicted because I was suffering some withdrawal symptoms. I have the Caffey Kaboom Jones on my back. Kayla, praying that you get better and can furnish my next fix.

I think this shows incredible poise and maturity. It is SO easy to play down a few levels when you think you have the win in the bag, and they just... did NOT. Wisconsin, Minnesota, TX, &c are playing inferior teams way closer than they should be ATM, so this bodes well for the maturity of this crew. Cook is probably proud.

I agree and that has not been a strength of past Nebraska teams.

π Followed by Krause's chuckle... I actually thought it was a little condescending of them to say that publicly. Obviously, the Huskers were better than them, but IDK...I just didn't think that was necessary to say that way.
