C-USA, trying to stay viable, is talking to New Mexico St, UConn and Liberty about joining conference. If those jump it would be a fitting name since the conference would span nearly from sea to shining sea.

Talk about desperation. Talking to three schools that have no connection to each other and likely not much to the current remaining teams. Read an opinion awhile back that is becoming more accurate with each passing event in the realignment. The opinion was that the G5 conferences need to blown up and reorganized on a regional basis. Yeah, that's not going to happen. As long as the SEC and the Big Ten can make significantly more than the others, there's no reason for them to do it. Though the endpoint of all of this is probably some kind of super conference where all the top college football brands leave everyone else behind. Read my post again. I said G5, not P5. Besides the P5 conferences are still mainly regional except for the new Big 12.

G5 is already pretty regional.
The MAC is the only northern league, the Mountain West is the only Western League, and the other three are mostly Southeastern.

Even in it's heyday the Sunbelt was quite a bit worse than the MAC.
Well played, Marshall.

Even in it's heyday the Sunbelt was quite a bit worse than the MAC. Well played, Marshall. The Sun Belt is substantially better now. Coastal Carolina and Louisiana are two of the top G5 programs. I don't think the MAC has had a team finish in the Top 25 since 2016.

There should be a rule against a Conference having two teams from towns called Bowling Green

Glad to see NMSU find a home. Apparently, this is the first time they'll be in a conference with either New Mexico or UTEP since the 1960s.

This also potentially kills Western Kentucky's chances to go to the MAC, as they probably don't want to have 13 schools.
