I am intrigued by this match which, in my mind is 50-50...may the best team win! I consider UK winning in 3 being just as likely as Tennessee winning in 3. It is the same question that has driven the 0-3 loss to Creighton, the 103 loss to Wisconsin (after UK was up 23-20 in the 4th), and the 2-3 loss to Louisville, not to mention the 3-2 win over Stanford, and the two 3-2 wins over a very good Arkansas.
It will be seniors Hayward, Felts, Bell, Mahaffey, and Grad Runnels vs Stumler & Tharp. I mentioned in a prior thread the leadership vacuum with Curry, Lilly, Paris, & Skinner gone, and the question each and every match this year is this. Will four sophomores - Goetzinger, Rutherford, Bell, & Walker, along with two freshman, Grome & Beavin (setter & libero, no less!) execute as sophomores & freshman, or as a team that won the national championship with mentors Curry, Lilly, Paris, & Skinner. We will shortly see.
