Elise Agi with a nice showing as a serving sub.
Ducks close to 25-21 after being down 3-15. Hopefully we don't dig ourselves such a hole to start Set 2.

Utah takes the 1st 25-21..but lead 15-3, so Ducks really came on strong. Let's hope they carry that momentum into the 2nd.

Ducks are always over animated for those calls and seems Ulmer feels forced to use a challenge Brooke especially gets very convinced if she feels there was a touch. It's fine, but Ulmer should have waved off that challenge in that situation IMO. It's fine that Brooke gets animated. You want your players to communicate what they see. But, as a coach, you need to be aware of (1) how inherently risky touch challenges are (bc they depend, in large part, on the camera angles so it's unlikely that a ref will see what you or a player saw), (2) the score (i.e., here, even if you win, it's probably not going to help), and (3) how many challenges you have left (none in this case if you lose) and how long it will be until the fifth set when you may get another challenge. This may be the least defensible challenge I've seen. |

Love how the Ducks best servers seem to be the two freshmen serving subs/DS's, who have barely played this year, but are making a difference. Now, can we get the blocking game going!

Oregon plays great defense... but can't get a transition swing. Running bumpset becomes a freeball instead of a scoring chance. Jankiewicz finally dumps for a kill.

Utah are just outplaying the Ducks. Digging well, serving well, blocking well, and getting their kills. They will need to have a let up for the Ducks to make this a match, at this point. Ducks are fighting, but just not as crisp as Utah has been so far.
