I hope Bradley wins at Valpo and ISU and that Loyola wins out for the win. I am a Bradley fan in general, and a Berkley fan.

Are they able to get the 1 seed at all? Loyola lost tonight so Illinois State is only 1 game back. Both teams had a key player out for the match. What happened? If Loyola loses at UNI tomorrow, then Loyola and Illinois State would finish as co-champions. The #1 seed would be determined by tiebreak. The primary tiebreak is head-to-head match results, which the two teams split, so it would go to "power rating" based on who all the teams beat in regular season conference play. And unless my spreadsheet is wrong, I believe Illinois State would hold that tiebreak and would get the #1 seed should Loyola lose.

Then, after that, UNI gets totally healthy after a stretch of truly rotten luck for next season and is back to competing for titles, which is good for the league!

I'm adopting Valparaiso as my 2nd favorite team. Their trademark is often scrappy defense, just like UNI used to be known for (and Rylee Cookerly kind of reminds me of Ellie Blankenship, who was UNI's record-setting libero years ago)
coach Carin Avery has a similar coaching demeanor to UNI's Bobbi Petersen (or at least that's how it appears to me, as someone just watching from the stands), with both women having coached at their schools for quite a while (Bobbi took over the head coaching duties at UNI in 2001 while Carin took over Valpo in 2002), and both have accumulated over 500 wins at their school. I'm also amused by her choice to rock band tshirts and jeans on the court. I only recently started paying attention to that, and so far I've noticed a Blondie tshirt and a Grateful Dead one. I also noticed some purple highlights in her hair which is fun.
And at least for this past match (NIVC semifinal), they had drummed up OUTSTANDING student support, which really adds to the atmosphere of a match. (admittedly, there was pizza bribery involved, but still)

Hope Valpo wins the championship tomorrow… GO VALPO!
